There was plenty of fun at first break today as our students and staff came together for R U OK? Day!

From challenges and competitions to colouring, bracelet making and positive messages, it was a great reminder that sometimes a small conversation can make a big difference.

Our P&C Committee is seeking parent and caregiver feedback on the proposed new school shirt designs.

An email has been sent out inviting you to vote for your preferred design for our new school shirts.

Please note, there will be a transition period for the new uniform. Students can continue to wear their current uniform, and families will not be required to purchase the new design straight away.

Voting closes 𝙁𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙖𝙮 11th 𝙎𝙚𝙥𝙩𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧, so make sure you have your say!

𝙏𝙃𝙀𝙔 𝘿𝙄𝘿 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙈𝘼𝙏𝙃𝙎… 𝘼𝙉𝘿 𝙉𝘼𝙄𝙇𝙀𝘿 𝙄𝙏!

A group of our Year 7 and 8 students recently put their maths skills to the test in Round 1 of the The University of Queensland and QAMT Queensland Association of Mathematics Teachers Inc. Maths Quiz!

Competing in mixed teams of three, students tackled five rounds of maths knowledge, speed, problem-solving and teamwork. It was fantastic to see their determination, focus and strategic thinking throughout the competition.

Last week, we were pleased to welcome Mr Hartley, Mr Harris and Ms Brown from the Australian Defence Force to BSHS for a career information session.

Students had the opportunity to learn more about the many career and pathway options available through the ADF Careers, ask questions and take away some great resources to explore.

Today it was our Year 7/8s’ turn to discover some of the exciting things QMEA has to offer!

We were pleased to welcome Michaela and Jill from Queensland Minerals and Energy Academy, with plenty of hands-on learning happening in the Science Block. Students explored three different levels of pulley systems used in mining, putting their knowledge to the test along the way.

A big thank you to QMEA for another fantastic visit and for continuing to show our students fun and practical ways of learning!
