Proud to be part of the incredible community at Blacktown City Toastmasters.
Our Member Dinner Event at Blacktown Workers Club was truly a memorable evening filled with connection, laughter, inspiration, and meaningful conversations. Every moment reminded me why Toastmasters is such a powerful organisation for personal and professional growth.
Being surrounded by passionate members, supportive leaders, and wonderful guests created an atmosphere that was both empowering and uplifting. From sharing stories and experiences to building new connections, the evening reflected the true spirit of leadership, communication, and community.

Some rooms have agendas. Some rooms have energy. Blacktown City Toastmasters has both.
You can feel it the moment you walk in. Warm welcomes, genuine encouragement, laughter between speeches, and that unmistakable spark of people choosing growth in real time.
There is something deeply vibrant about a room full of individuals who show up after long workdays, family responsibilities, and busy lives, simply to become better communicators, stronger leaders, and more confident versions of themselves.
Each meeting is a reminder that confidence is not something you are born with. It is something you build, one speech, one evaluation, one brave moment at a time.
What stands out most is the generosity of the members. Experienced speakers cheering on first-timers. Constructive feedback delivered with care. Diverse voices, stories, and styles all welcomed on the same stage.
That is where the magic lives, not perfection, but progress.
Blacktown City Toastmasters is more than a club. It is a community where nervous introductions become powerful speeches, where strangers become supporters, and where potential becomes visible.
If you have ever wanted to find your voice, sharpen your leadership, or simply be in a room that lifts people higher, this is your sign.
Growth sounds a lot like applause.

There is something deeply human about fear.
It shows up just before we speak,
just before we try,
just before we step into something bigger than ourselves.
But here is the truth I keep coming back to:
You can lose to an opponent.
You must not lose to fear.
Tomorrow at Blacktown City Toastmasters, we explore this idea through a theme inspired by The Karate Kid. A simple message, yet one that applies everywhere, in leadership, in data, in life.
Every time we choose to speak despite doubt,
to share despite uncertainty,
to show up before we feel ready…
we are quietly building courage.
And that is where growth begins.
If you have ever felt hesitant to use your voice,
this might be the room for you.

🎤 “No one puts Baby in a corner.”
A powerful line from Dirty Dancing, spoken by Johnny Castle, continues to resonate decades later.
But this line is more than just a cinematic moment.
It is about voice, visibility, and self-worth.
In the film, “Baby” is underestimated, sidelined, and expected to stay quiet. That one sentence challenges all of it. It is a declaration that no one deserves to be hidden, dismissed, or made to feel small.
At Blacktown City Toastmasters Club Meeting #1327, we explored this idea through our theme:
✨ Breaking Free From Limits
Because in real life, many of us:
• Hold back our opinions
• Doubt our voice
• Stay in the “corner” out of fear or uncertainty
Toastmasters is where that changes.
It is a space where individuals:
• Step forward with confidence
• Find their voice
• Speak with clarity and purpose
• And most importantly, realise they were never meant to stay small
Every speech delivered, every evaluation shared, and every story told is a step away from the corner and into the spotlight.
If you have ever felt unheard, underestimated, or unsure of your voice, this is your invitation.

Because your voice deserves to be seen, heard, and remembered.

🎙️ Celebrating Our VPPR in Action! 🌄
Blacktown City Toastmasters is proud to see our Vice President Public Relations, Sumali Wickramarachchi, representing our club as the test speaker at the Blue Mountains Toastmasters Club Speech Evaluation Contest, held at the historic Carrington Hotel.
Her inspiring speech, “Don’t Box the Brilliance – Make the Logic Leap,” reminded us that growth begins when we listen for signals, extract insights, align with purpose, and propel into action. 🌿
It’s always wonderful to see members of our club sharing their voices and ideas beyond our home base — inspiring others to learn, speak, and lead with courage and creativity.
Thank you, Blue mountain toastmasters for welcoming Sumali with such warmth and enthusiasm! 💙
