🎉 Celebrating an Extraordinary Year at Blacktown City Toastmasters 🎉

As we gathered for our final meeting of the 2025–2026 Toastmasters year, it was impossible not to reflect on how far we have come—not just as speakers and leaders, but as individuals.

Over the past year, we have witnessed members find their voice, overcome fears, embrace challenges, step into leadership, inspire audiences, and support one another through every stage of their journey. Every speech delivered, every evaluation given, every role performed, and every encouraging conversation has contributed to something truly special.

Blacktown City Toastmasters is more than a club. It is a community where confidence is built, friendships are formed, and ordinary people achieve extraordinary things.

Tonight, we celebrated those individuals whose dedication, commitment, and service have left a lasting impact on our club.

🏆 Toastmaster of the Year – Sumali Wickramarachchi
Recognised for outstanding contribution, leadership, service, and commitment throughout the year.

🎤 Marathon Speaker of the Year – Sumali Wickramarachchi
For delivering the highest number of speeches and continuously stepping outside her comfort zone to grow.

⭐ Pinnacle Performer of the Year – Kaarthika Varathan
For her exceptional contribution through speaking, leadership as Vice President Education, and service across the wider Toastmasters community.

📅 Immaculate Attendance Award – Kaarthika Varathan
For her unwavering commitment and remarkable attendance throughout the year.

🌟 Pride of Blacktown City Toastmasters – Melati Muskitta
For taking her communication skills beyond the club through contests, evaluations, professional speaking, and inspiring others through her example.

🤝 Best Team Player – Kanga Cooley
For his leadership, guidance, generosity, and willingness to support wherever needed.

🌱 Brilliant Beginner of the Year – Uresha Miskin
For an incredible first year marked by enthusiasm, growth, strong evaluations, and contest success at both Club and Area levels.

💙 Most Supportive Member – Yeshwant Ponkshe
For selflessly sharing his knowledge, mentoring members, conducting workshops, and uplifting others across the Toastmasters community.

🛡️ Silent Soldier of the Club – Seema Balasubramanian
For her quiet strength, wisdom, encouragement, and consistent support behind the scenes.

🙌 Helping Hand of the Club – Chandra Dhami
For always stepping forward with a helping hand and supporting the club whenever needed.

These awards are not simply about recognition. They represent courage, growth, resilience, leadership, service, and the willingness to help others succeed. Behind every award is a story of someone who chose to show up, contribute, learn, and make a difference.

To every member, mentor, guest, evaluator, officer, and supporter—thank you. You are the reason our club continues to thrive.

As one chapter closes and another begins, we look forward to new speeches, new leaders, new friendships, and new opportunities to grow.

Here’s to another year of transforming lives, one speech at a time.

Congratulations to all our award recipients and thank you for making 2025–2026 a year we will never forget. ❤️

⚓️ One Ship. One Lifeboat. One Impossible Decision.

Imagine it’s the Roaring Twenties…

You’re aboard the RMS Majestic alongside some of history’s most famous figures. The music is playing, the ch*****ne is flowing, and the night is young.

Then disaster strikes.

The ship is sinking, and there’s only ONE seat left in the lifeboat.

Who deserves to survive?

Einstein? Abraham Lincoln? Gandhi? Amelia Earhart? Napoleon? Or perhaps another legendary figure who can persuade the audience that their survival will change the course of history?

Join us for the Dural Lifeboat Debate, an evening packed with humour, persuasion, storytelling, creativity and outstanding public speaking as contestants battle for your vote.

And if that’s not enough excitement, our fellow Toastmasters at Dural are also known for creating unforgettable themed events. In true Toastmasters fashion, expect fun, fellowship, and plenty of laughter throughout the evening.

Some rooms have agendas. Some rooms have energy. Blacktown City Toastmasters has both.

You can feel it the moment you walk in. Warm welcomes, genuine encouragement, laughter between speeches, and that unmistakable spark of people choosing growth in real time.

There is something deeply vibrant about a room full of individuals who show up after long workdays, family responsibilities, and busy lives, simply to become better communicators, stronger leaders, and more confident versions of themselves.

Each meeting is a reminder that confidence is not something you are born with. It is something you build, one speech, one evaluation, one brave moment at a time.

What stands out most is the generosity of the members. Experienced speakers cheering on first-timers. Constructive feedback delivered with care. Diverse voices, stories, and styles all welcomed on the same stage.

That is where the magic lives, not perfection, but progress.

Blacktown City Toastmasters is more than a club. It is a community where nervous introductions become powerful speeches, where strangers become supporters, and where potential becomes visible.

If you have ever wanted to find your voice, sharpen your leadership, or simply be in a room that lifts people higher, this is your sign.

Growth sounds a lot like applause.
