🎉 Mr Paul Chamberlain wins 2026 Principal Network Award for excellence in Teaching and Learning at Blacktown Girls High School! 🎉

We’re thrilled to share that Paul Chamberlain has received the Principal’s Network Award for Teaching and Learning at the Metropolitan South and West Directorate Public Schools awards on 2 September 2026.

This prestigious honour recognises his exceptional work in the High Potential and Gifted space, as well as his dedication to pushing students to new heights in robotics through our extracurricular activities, including the exciting Space Camp programs.

Paul’s commitment to challenging and inspiring our students to achieve their best within both teaching and robotics is truly making a difference.

🎉🏆 BGHS Tennis Champions: Third Place at Floris Conway Cup! 🎾✨

🏆🎾 Blacktown Girls High School Tennis Team has made history, claiming 3rd place at the Floris Conway Cup State Finals - a prestigious NSW Combined High Schools Sports (CHS) tournament held at Forster Tennis Club - marking the school’s best-ever result! 🥉👏

After going undefeated through the Western Sydney knockout rounds, beating strong schools such as Girraween HS, The Ponds, and Castle Hill HS to qualify for State, our girls earned their spot against NSW’s toughest teams, including specialist sports schools. 💪🔥 Battling through a challenging repêchage bracket, they secured victories over Great Lakes College and Kiama High School to finish as the top non-sports high school in the competition. 🏅🎉

Special highlights include Year 7’s Gurleen with an incredible singles win and the inspiring dedication of our Year 12 leaders Anshika, Inara and Tanisha, ending their school tennis journey with this memorable bronze medal. 🎓❤️

The unwavering support from every member, on and off the court, made tennis a true team effort this year. A special shout out to their teacher and coach Mr Alexander, for his guidance and encouragement! 🤝💙

Navya is absolutely shining this year! ✨ She rocked the stage as MC for the Secondary Choral Festival at the iconic Sydney Opera House 🎤🎶 and after a tough audition, was selected to co-host the spectacular School Spectacular 🎭 one of NSW’s biggest performing arts events showcasing thousands of talented students on a world class stage! 🌟👏

🔬🧬 Exploring the Human Body Like Never Before! 🧠🩺

Our HSC Biology students showed enquiring minds and strong stomachs during their visit to the UNSW Museum of Human Disease.

The exhibits were as real as can be, featuring actual preserved specimens of human organs afflicted by a range of infectious, non-infectious, and genetic disorders. 🦠💉🧫

This unique exposure will greatly enhance their study of HSC Modules 6, 7, and 8, bringing the biomedical sciences to life! 📚✨

Huge congrats to our Year 11 Academy U students for completing Leadership in Complexity - a real first year Western Sydney Uni subject with Credits & Distinctions. Our students and Teaching staff attended the recent graduation ceremony at Western Sydney University Campus where the students were recognised! 🎓✨🎉

They’re now eligible for early entry to most courses, earn academic credit, and access exclusive scholarships. 🏆

After four years in Academy U, they’ve built leadership & critical thinking skills, tackled UN Sustainable Development Goals at hackathons, and studied with uni academics at Parramatta Campus. 🌍📚

This is an important opportunity to connect with your child’s teachers, discuss their progress, and receive valuable feedback to support their ongoing success.

Empowering Futures: Industry Night Sparks Inspiration and Connection at BGHS! ✨🎉

Industry Night, hosted by our Prefects, brought together 100 students, alumni, and 20 industry professionals for an inspiring evening of networking, panel discussions, and interactive activities.

Designed to help senior students explore the many career pathways available, the event highlighted the incredible possibilities for young women to create, change, and contribute to the world. Alumni shared their journeys, students engaged with thoughtful questions, and the strong connection across generations of Blacktown Girls was a highlight. 💙🤝
