🏆 SPORTING HIGHLIGHT | MARCELL – YEAR 7 🏆

What an incredible achievement for Marcell of Year 7, who competed at the NSW Combined High Schools Championships yesterday in Trampoline Sports.

Marcel had an outstanding competition, taking home FOUR individual gold medals in the 13 Years division! 🥇🥇🥇🥇

And to top off an already phenomenal result, Marcel was also awarded 🏆 CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS! 🏆

📚✨ BOOK WEEK 2026 ✨📚

Today our students celebrated Book Week across Evans High School! 💚💛

This year’s celebration was a fantastic student-led initiative, with our senior students taking the lead in promoting, organising and running activities across the school.

It was wonderful to see so many students getting involved, dressing as their favourite book and game characters and bringing plenty of colour and fun to the day. 📖🎭

A huge congratulations and thank you to our amazing students who helped make the day such a success! 👏✨

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ HPGE RUN CLUB TAKES ON THE SYDNEY MINI MARATHON!

What an incredible weekend for our Evans High School HPGE Run Club, with nine students taking part in the TCS Sydney Mini Marathon and completing the 5 km course through the heart of Sydney, finishing at the iconic Sydney Opera House. 🌟

The event was the culmination of months of dedication and training, with our students meeting before school each week and committing additional time outside of school to prepare. Their hard work certainly paid off, with some students even achieving new 5 km personal bests. 🏅

As part of the experience, our students also had the wonderful opportunity to attend an event featuring some incredible sporting figures, including Australian Olympic swimming champion Emma McKeon.

A huge congratulations to every student who participated. We are incredibly proud of the determination, resilience and commitment you demonstrated throughout both the training and the event itself.

We would also like to recognise Mr Sondaar and Ms Rigoli, who generously volunteer their own time to facilitate our HPGE Run Club and provide opportunities like this for our students. Their enthusiasm, encouragement and commitment have made this experience possible. 💚

🏃‍♂️ SPORTING HIGHLIGHT | ALI – YEAR 10 🌟

A fantastic achievement from Ali in Year 10, who completed the Sydney Mini Marathon on Saturday as part of our HPGE Run Club!

Ali was the first finisher from our Evans High School students and staff, recording an impressive net time of 20:48 and placing 237th overall out of 11,203 participants. 🏅

An incredible result and a wonderful reflection of the commitment and effort Ali has put into his training.

Congratulations, Ali! We are very proud of you! 💚💛

💚💛 SASS Recognition Week 💚💛

As part of SASS Recognition Week, our wonderful teaching staff came together to celebrate our ever fantastic SASS team with a delicious luncheon, followed by a very entertaining SASS trivia game! 😄

It was a lovely afternoon recognising the dedication, care and hard work our SASS staff contribute to Evans High School every day.

🏉 JERSEY DAY IS TOMORROW! 🏀⚽🏐

Friday 4 September, Evans High School will be supporting Jersey Day and the Nathan Gremmo Community Network 💛💙

Students are encouraged to wear their favourite sporting jersey to school for the day and help us raise awareness of the importance of organ and tissue donation.

There is no donation or payment required from students. Jersey Day is all about starting conversations, raising awareness and showing our support for this important initiative.

📸 Students who have permission for their photo to be taken may also be included in some group photos during recess and lunchtime. We’ll share some of these on our school social media and tag the Nathan Gremmo Community Network to show our support.

So whether it’s NRL, AFL, soccer, basketball, netball or your favourite local team, get your jersey ready! 🙌

🌟 Confidence. Connection. Possibility.

Our students recently participated in the ABCN Interact Program at MUFG Parramatta, working alongside workplace mentors to strengthen their communication, confidence and career-readiness skills.

The results were incredible:

💬 Confidence speaking in English: 17% → 100%
💡 Knowing their strengths and values: 26% → 100%
🎤 Understanding how to succeed in an interview: 0% → 100%
🚀 Seeing themselves in careers like their mentors: 17% → 91%

One student summed it up beautifully:

“I first came with 0% confidence, but now it’s like 100%.”

A huge thank you to ABCN, MUFG Parramatta, the mentors who generously shared their time and experience, and Cendel for coordinating this wonderful opportunity for our students. 💚💛
