Today, on National Sorry Day, we come together to remember and acknowledge the pain and suffering experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, especially the Stolen Generations β children who were taken away from their families, communities, and culture.
National Sorry Day is an important time for all Australians to reflect on our shared history and recognise the lasting impact these actions have had on individuals, families, and communities. It is also a day of healing, understanding, and respect.
Saying βsorryβ is more than just a word. It means listening, learning, and working together to build a future based on kindness, truth, and reconciliation. Here at Coreen School, we can honour this day by showing respect for First Nations cultures and by supporting inclusion and understanding in our everyday lives.
Let us remember the past, learn from it, and continue to create a future where everyone feels valued, respected, and connected.
Thank you.

Just a reminder about the bag policy at Coreen.
This policy has been working well so far, with movement throughout the day made easier by students collecting their bags from the office at the end of the day.
Due to increased movement around the school, Coreen is requesting that students do not carry school bags, backpacks, bum bags, or bags of any shape or size during the school day.
If it is essential for a student to have a bag, we ask that it be handed in at the front office upon arrival and collected again at departure.
