Homemade Japanese sweet! As I missed Japanese sweets so much, I cooked azuki beans to make the Japanese sweet. I used camellia leaves from my garden for the ears and azuki beans for the eyes. Does it look like a rabbit? It was yummy!

Robust Mizuna
Gardening is such a joy! It’s like treasure hunting. Today I found self-seeding Mizuna, Japanese mustard green, under trees. Although it was cold here, they looked so deliciously beautiful. Mizuna means water leaves in Japanese. It’s a bit pungent. It is high in several important vitamins and antioxidants. It has several health benefits, such as improved bone, immune, and eye health. I made a salad with Parmesan cheese and pear. It goes well with soy sauce and sesame oil.

Real Garden Salad using eatable flowers and vegetables from my garden and my friend’s farm
Some flowers are not only beautiful but also eatable. Nasturtiums, borages, chives and kale flowers are among those. Sour cherries from my friend’s farm add sweetness. I want to grow more eatable flowers in my garden. You can grow herbs and vegetables in pots too! Eat healthy for you and for the planet! Merry Christmas!
