Mountains Christian College Blackheath MCC is K-12 Christian School located in Blackheath in the beautiful Blue Mountains At Mountains Christian College we seek to bring out the best in each student.

We recognise that students all have different gifts and abilities, for some it will be academic, for others sport or music, while for some it is the ability to be a good friend. Our emphasis is on the individual student being challenged in and achieving the best of which they are capable.

Colour Run Next Week! 🎨🏃🏼‍♀️

Get ready for a colourful day of running, fun obstacles and plenty of laughs!

📆 Thursday 10 September
🫶 11:20am – 1:00pm
📍College oval and grounds

Students can wear mufti clothing suitable for running. White and black will show the colours best!

👓 Eye protection is compulsory
💧 Bring a water bottle, recess and lunch
✨ A bandana to cover your nose and mouth during the colour zone may also be helpful.
🌭 Sausage sandwiches: $3 | Drinks: $1

All money raised from the sausage sizzle will support World Vision Nepal’s emergency flood appeal.

Parents are welcome to attend as spectators. We can’t wait to see everyone covered in colour! 🌈

🤖 At MCC, each Thursday during recess we have an enthusiastic group of students meeting together at Robot Club to build and code their Lego and Microbit robots in small teams. Last Monday, some of our Robot Club students attended the RoboCup Junior State competition in Liverpool, along with students from the Stage 5 Coding Elective.

RoboCup Junior showcases the amazing abilities of students as they collaborate in small teams of 2-4 students to participate in Line Following Rescue, Soccer, Maze and OnStage events. It is an inspiring and fun experience as students develop perseverance, patience and complex problem solving skills while encouraging others.

MCC students were treated to a Science Incursion this morning presented by Fizzics Education. The focus on the hour long show was Chemistry. Some of the fascinating things students learnt about were the pH science of acids, bases, and indicators used to detect them, different coloured flames, making volcanoes with hydrogen peroxide and potassium, and the science of UV light and glowing chemicals.
