๐ท YEAR 3/4 NUMERACY: SHAPES & SPACE ๐ถ
Our Year 3/4 students have been developing their mathematical thinking through a range of engaging Numeracy experiences focused on shapes, space, addition and subtraction.
Students have been exploring mathematical concepts through reasoning, problem-solving and algebraic thinking, while investigating the properties of 2D and 3D shapes and learning how to classify and describe them using mathematical language.
Creativity has also played an important role in our learning, with students participating in maths-inspired art activities that encouraged them to see mathematics from a different perspective. They have also been challenged to explain and justify their thinking through writing, helping to deepen their understanding and strengthen their communication skills.
It has been fantastic to see students growing in confidence as mathematicians, collaborating with their peers, sharing ideas and embracing challenges with enthusiasm.
๐โ Every day, our students are building the skills, confidence and curiosity needed to become successful mathematical thinkers.

๐พ RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERSHIP ๐พ
Last week, our Foundation students enjoyed a special visit from Pam and her beautiful dog, Clover, as part of the Responsible Pet Ownership program.
Through fun songs, engaging stories, and hands-on activities, students learned how to care for pets safely and kindly, how to approach dogs respectfully, and how to recognise when a dog may be feeling happy, nervous, or scared.
The highlight of the session was practising how to safely meet a dog and having the chance to give Clover a gentle pat! ๐ถ๐
It was a wonderful learning experience that helped our students build confidence, empathy, and an understanding of responsible pet care.

๐โจ Our students recently joined millions of children across Australia in celebrating National Simultaneous Storytime!
On Wednesday, 27 May 2026, students came together to enjoy Luna Roo, a fun and engaging story about Luna the kangaroo and her friends as they chase their football dreams across the outback. Filled with action, teamwork and adventure, the story captivated our young readers from beginning to end.
After listening to the authors bring Lunaโs story to life, students participated in a range of creative follow-up activities. They recreated the story as comic strips, explored connections between themselves and the characters, and worked collaboratively to build the storyโs setting and characters using materials from around the classroom.
We are currently exploring narrative settings and characters, making this a wonderful opportunity to deepen studentsโ understanding through hands-on learning. Our students were incredibly proud of their teamwork, creativity and final creations!

This term, Foundation students were fortunate to welcome visits from our local Fire Station. Our local firefighters work closely with the community to teach important fire safety skills and help prevent emergencies before they happen.
During the first visit, the students learned that firefighters are important community helpers. They also discovered the difference between safe and unsafe fires, why it is important to stay low in smoke, and the need for a safe family meeting place.
Everyone was very excited for the second visit when the fire truck arrived! The students loved having the opportunity to sit inside the truck and even try using the fire hose.
