What a Wonderful Start to Book Week! 📚✨

This week has been full of excitement and joy as we celebrate Book Week at Le Fevre Peninsula Primary School. On Monday, our staff kicked off the festivities by swapping classes and reading stories to students—a fantastic way to share our love of books and spark imagination!

Our library is buzzing with creativity during the Lego Masters challenge, where students built amazing book-inspired creations.

Today we have Nature Play incursion where students are participating in Geocaching; a real-world, outdoor treasure-hunting game where players use GPS coordinates to find hidden containers called caches.

Tomorrow (Friday 28th August) we finish the week with our Book Week Assembly and colourful costume parade! It’s always wonderful to see our students dress up as their favourite book characters and share the magic of reading.

🔭🔬⚛SCIENCE WEEK⚛🔭🔬

Congratulations to Riley from Rm 5 who designed a paper plane that flew over 15 metres and won the longest flight competition.
Leo from Rm 9 took out the longest flight (time) award. He plane was a well designed plane, especially created to stay in the air.
Thanks to over 40 students who participated. We were impressed with some of the intricate designs.

MALPA- CALVARY HOSPITAL🩺🩹

On Friday the 7th of August the MALPA Students travelled to Calvary North Adelaide Hospital. They were met by an amazing team of Doctor and Nurses where they were able to learn about the hospitals history and about how they could one day be a Doctor or Nurse.

The students learnt about what it is like to be a midwife. They got to choose a baby, name the baby, weigh and measure the baby and then dress them.
After this the student put on scrubs and were taken to a theatre to learn what it is like to be a surgeon or nurse and were able to use different tools.

Thank you so much Calvary North Adelaide for having us. The students had a blast and learnt so much from the day!

✨SSO WEEK✨

Last week we celebrated SSO Week and took the opportunity to recognise the incredible work of our School Support Officers at Le Fevre Peninsula Primary. On Tuesday 18th August, we hosted a special morning tea to say thank you and show our appreciation for all that our SSOs do.

Our SSOs are a cornerstone of our school community, providing invaluable support in classrooms, assisting students and families, and helping to keep everything running smoothly. We’re so grateful for their dedication, care and hard work—whether it’s helping with learning, organising resources or offering a friendly smile.

Thank you to all our SSOs for everything you do

COUNTRY WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION - HAND SEWING WITH ROOM 22 🧵🪡

On Wednesday 12th of August, our students in Room 22 had the opportunity to learn how to hand sew and stitch with some members of the Country Women's Association (CWA).

Students were guided through the basics of hand sewing, learning how to carefully thread needles, create stitches, and work with different materials to make their own little stuffed monsters. It was wonderful to watch students develop their confidence and patience as they practised these new skills, with many taking great pride in their finished creations.

We are so thankful to the CWA volunteers for spending time with our students and sharing their knowledge and love of hand sewing. Opportunities like this allow our students to connect with members of our community, learn valuable traditional skills, and experience the joy of trying something new.

Thank you, CWA, for inspiring our young learners and helping them discover the joy of hand sewing and stitching! 🧵💛
