Hear Tom Hartley (ABC, 7:30 Report) and Jasmine Fellows (Refraction Media) discuss the impact of investigative science journalism at the ASC Conference 2026.
They’ll be talking about how science in the media can change lives, using 7:30’s report on vitamin B6 toxicity as a case in point. They’ll also discuss the multi-platform nature of modern media programming, and how science communicators can support the uptake of science.

ASC Conversations is happening on the 13th of August! This time ASC Vice President Jen Martin will be conversing with Patrick Helean. Make sure to head over to asc.asn.au and visit our events page for more details.

ASC Conversations is a bi-monthly online event hosted by ASC Vice President Jen Martin. Each session is a live conversation with a guest science communicator, where they share their career story, insights, and approaches to communicating science. It’s a chance to share stories and knowledge, ask questions and leave with new ideas about how to communicate science effectively with different audiences.
