As a student or even someone new to Martial arts who has ever had a deep thought of competing but still not sure...we get your thinking.
You may be telling yourself that competing is just not your thing.
You have been training for a while and only interested in the self-defence and fitness, which is still great.
You may not like the confrontation of sparring someone you have never faced, so you have avoided it. But when you spar in regular class, you really enjoy it.
You may be afraid of injury or losing, what will people think?
All of the above is a perfectly normal train of thought.
So where do you fit in with actually competing in a tournament? For the average student, it is so left field and the thought of striking or wrestling someone in full contact is something that was never expected as part of the journey.
The well-known motivator Anthony Robbins has a great phrase. It is simply; βif you canβt, you must.β So regardless all the reasons that are stacked up as to why you are not going in this yearβs competition, can be cut through very simply. βTo grow, you just have to.β

We have a Kickboxing adult student who just joined last week and his hand wraps only lasted two days. π₯
He asked for new ones and was curiously asked, why another pair? π€
He replied with.....my dog ate them π€₯
.... and yes it is true.... π
Be wary of the dogs at GIANT! π₯

What an incredible grading week!
GIANT hosted 12 grading groups tested across both locations.
Approx 257 students graded.
Congrats to all who passed!
Special mention to Isabel V and Tallulah N on achieving their Provisional ranks. Both girls have trained for many years and passed a tough 1.5 hour grading ending with a traditional 3v1 shark tank πͺ
Get ready for a fresh term starting with coming up. Bring a friend to train for free all week π€
See you on the mat!
