πβ¨ National Simultaneous Storytime 2026 β¨π
This week our Rawson St Kids joined thousands of children right across Australia for National Simultaneous Storytime, reading this year's chosen book Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller by Adam Jackson, Adrian Lloyd & Jake A Minton! π¦β½
From our cosy indoor reading nook to story time out in the sunshine, our little learners were captivated by Luna Roo's journey to the Animal World Cup. There were giggles, gasps, and lots of wide eyes as we cheered Luna on! π
A huge thank you to our amazing educators for bringing the story to life, and to the Australian Library and Information Association for organising another magical year of reading together. π
Stories build imagination, language, connection β and a lifelong love of books. πβ€οΈ

βπ§ What a beautiful morning at Rawson St Kids! π
Today our RSK family came together for Australia's Biggest Morning Tea to raise funds for Cancer Council Australia and what a spread it was! From homemade cupcakes, cinnamon donuts and mini quiches, to cucumber & dill tea sandwiches, brownies, apple pies and ham & cheese sandwichesβ¦ our incredible educators and families went all out. π₯°
A huge thank you to everyone who baked, donated, sipped a cuppa, and popped a coin in the daffodil box. Even our littlest learners got involved because kindness starts young. π
Every dollar raised goes directly to cancer research, prevention, and support services for Australians affected by cancer. Together, we can make a real difference.

π³π **Safer Spaces, Stronger Community** π
Dominey Reserve is a special place in our Bexley community; enjoyed every day by children, families, schools, and early learning services including Rawson St Kids.
As part of our commitment to child safety and wellbeing, we are supporting a petition to advocate for secure fencing around the reserve to help create a safer environment for everyone.
Fencing can help:
β
Improve safety for children and families
β
Reduce risks from nearby roads and traffic
β
Support schools and early learning services during excursions and outdoor learning
β
Encourage greater community confidence and use of the space
We would love your support in helping make Dominey Reserve a safer place for our children and community. π
π² Please scan the QR code and sign the petition today. Every signature makes a difference!
Together, we can create a safer, stronger community for everyone. π±π

ππ₯ Kogarah Fire Fighters visited us at Rawson St Kids today, bringing an exciting and meaningful learning experience for the children.
On Fire Fighter Day, we honour our local heroes at Kogarah Fire Station and the incredible work they do to keep our community safe. β€οΈ
We explored important fire safety messages, learning that if there is a fire at home or at school, we get down low and go, go, go! π The children also learned what to do if their clothes catch fire; stop, drop, cover and roll.
We spoke about the importance of having at least one smoke detector in every home π, and that firefighters are here to keep us safe and help our community β not to be afraid of! The children were also reminded that in an emergency, we call 000. π
Just as we were about to head outside to see the fire truck up close, the firefighters were called to a real emergency. π¨ The children watched in awe as the siren sounded and the truck rushed off to help; turning the moment into a powerful, real-life learning experience none of us will forget.
A huge thank you to the team at Kogarah Fire Station for giving our children such an unforgettable day. You are true community heroes! π

One of our beautiful Rawson St Kids families had the honour of placing the wreath this ANZAC Day, paying tribute to the brave men and women who have served our country.
Moments like these remind us of the strength of community, respect, and the importance of remembering those who came before us.
Lest we forget. We will remember them. πΊ
