πŸ”¬πŸ«›Science WeekπŸ«›πŸ”¬

Every big discovery starts with a small question!

It has been wonderful to see the wonder, curiosity, collaboration and love of learning shown by our younger students at Bexley Public School.

Watching our youngest learners explore, investigate and ask questions with such enthusiasm and confidence is a wonderful reminder of the power of hands-on learning and the importance of nurturing curiosity from an early age. πŸ§ͺπŸŒ±πŸ”

πŸ§ͺπŸ”¬ Bexley Public School Science Week 2026! πŸŒ±πŸ’‘

What an incredible week of curiosity, discovery, creativity, problem-solving and SCIENCE at Bexley Public School!
@
Celebrating this year’s National Science Week theme, β€œSowing the Seeds of Science – Nurturing Science for All,” our students spent the week cultivating knowledge, growing curiosity and discovering the exciting world of science through hands-on learning. πŸŒ±πŸ”¬

From our youngest learners to our Year 6 students, Science came alive as they explored, experimented, designed, created and made amazing discoveries. From rockets and building challenges to coding, sherbet and slime-making, as well as fizzing and foaming chemical reactions, there were plenty of β€œWOW… how did that happen?” moments! πŸš€πŸ’»πŸ§ͺ

🌱 Our students became Plant Detectives, exploring the flowers, seeds and plants around our playground. They planted seeds, created their own greenhouses and investigated what plants need to grow and thrive.

🍬 Our Stage 3 students got hands-on creating their own delicious sherbet! After plenty of mixing, experimenting and investigating, the verdict was in… delicious!

🌍 They also explored the important role of seed banks in protecting our planet’s future, discovering how they help preserve plant species, protect biodiversity and safeguard seeds for generations to come.

Throughout the week, students asked questions, made predictions, tested ideas, solved problems and worked collaboratively to discover how the world around them works. πŸŒπŸ’‘

A huge thank you to our amazing teachers for bringing Science Week to life and inspiring our students to be curious, creative and courageous thinkers. πŸ™Œ

What a fantastic celebration of Science and STEM at Bexley Public School! We can’t wait to see what questions our young scientists ask next and what incredible discoveries grow from the seeds of curiosity planted this week. πŸŒ±πŸ§ πŸ”¬βœ¨

🌿🌎 Exploring the Amazon Rainforest! 🌎🌿

Our students in Spanish Club learned about the Amazon Rainforest for Science Week, the largest tropical rainforest in the world and in South America.πŸ†πŸ¦‹πŸ•ΈπŸŒ³πŸ’

They enjoyed discovering facts and creating posters about why it is important to protect it. πŸŒ±πŸ’š

The Amazon is home to around 10% of known species and is called the β€œlungs of the Earth” for its role in keeping our oxygen clean. 🌎

A great way to learn about protecting this precious ecosystem! πŸ’šπŸŒ³

🌟 BULLYING NO WAY WEEK | 17–21 AUGUST 2026 🌟
πŸ’œ Small Acts, BIG Impact πŸ’œ

Next week at Bexley Public School, we are joining schools across Australia to celebrate Bullying No Way Week β€” a time to remind our students and our whole school community that kindness, respect, inclusion and standing up for others can make a BIG difference.
πŸ’› Small acts of kindness can have a big impact.
A smile.
Including someone in a game.
Sitting with someone who is alone.
Saying something kind.
Helping a friend.
Standing up when someone is being treated unfairly.
Choosing not to join in when others are spreading hurtful words or behaviour.
Bullying and hate can have a lasting impact on others. We want our students to understand that their words, actions and choices matter β€” both online and in person.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCYCLJgKbLE
At Bexley PS, we encourage every student to:
🌈 Be kind.
🀝 Include others.
πŸ’¬ Use words that build people up, not tear them down.
πŸ›‘ Don't join in with bullying or hurtful behaviour.
πŸ‘€ Speak up and seek help when something doesn't feel right.
❀️ Look out for others and show empathy.

We also encourage our families to have conversations at home about kindness, respectful communication, friendship and what children can do if they see or experience bullying.

Let's make kindness contagious! πŸ’œ
Because sometimes the smallest act can make the biggest difference to someone's day β€” and even to their life.

🌟 Small Acts. BIG Impact. 🌟
Bexley Public School β€” Ever Forward. πŸ’™πŸ’›
