Our little scientists have been busy mixing, pouring, stirring, and experimenting during potion play! Through hands-on exploration, the children developed their creativity, curiosity, and problem-solving skills while having lots of fun discovering what happens when different ingredients come together.๐Ÿงช

๐Ÿฆ‹Our Junior Kindy children have been learning all about the fascinating life cycle of a butterfly! Through discussions, observations, and hands-on learning experiences, the children are discovering how a tiny egg transforms into a beautiful butterfly.

As part of our learning journey, we've been exploring our outdoor environment, searching for butterflies in the yard and observing them in their natural habitat. The children have been excited to spot different butterflies and share their discoveries with their friends.

These experiences encourage curiosity, observation skills, and a deeper appreciation for nature and the amazing changes that occur in the world around us. ๐ŸŒฟโœจ

Can you believe we are halfway through our Veggie Fun Program for 2026? ๐Ÿ™ŒOur Veggie Fun Program runs for 10 months of the year, giving the QCCS Kindergarten Children real-world experience of our farm to plate approach to food & nutrition. By learning, planting, growing, harvesting and cooking our featured vegetables, children develop an understanding of food systems, as well as confidence in the kitchen.

This month our feature vegetable is beetroot! Loved on burgers in Australia, this nutrient rich vegetable will be whipped up into a creamy beetroot dip by our kindergarten children. Donโ€™t forget to ask about the fun facts they have learned, they will love to share their new knowledge with you.

๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’›โค๏ธ Learning About Reconciliation โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ–ค

As part of National Reconciliation Week, we're helping children learn about important moments in Australia's history in a simple and meaningful way.

โœจ May 27 โ€“ The 1967 Referendum
Many years ago, Australians voted to make sure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples were counted and recognised alongside all other Australians. It was an important step towards fairness and inclusion.
โœจ June 3 โ€“ Mabo Day
Mabo Day remembers a landmark decision that recognised Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Owners of their land, acknowledging their deep and ongoing connection to Country.

By sharing these stories with children, we help build understanding, respect and appreciation for the rich cultures, histories and contributions of First Nations peoples.

๐ŸŒฟ Together, we are learning, listening, and walking the path toward reconciliation.
