Pursue a recognised course in Cert 3 in SCHOOL-BASED EDUCATION SUPPORT in a primary school setting with practical training and qualify as a Teacher Aide (TA).
New students will be guided and supported to commence with the ongoing course units. Join in February 2023 (Fridays 9.30am to 2pm).

It is so wonderful to hear that you would like to study to become a teacher's aide or be better equipped for your current role!

My name is Daisy, and I am our Dean of Students here at Eastern. I will be processing your application in the coming week and journeying with you through the process.

Please see below important next steps for you to complete the application process:

1) Course information - The course is planned to start on October 7th

* Classes will run weekly on a Friday at Berwick Lodge Primary during school terms from 9:30am - 2:30pm. Classes will conclude on March 24, 2023.

* There is a 100 hour placement requirement. Placement can be done at Berwick Lodge Primary, or another school should you wish.

* Note: There will be a pre-commencement Orientation and Training via zoom on Wednesday or Thursay (5th or 6th) October and these details will be emailed to you as soon as they are finalised.

2) Save the date to attend the Enrolment Session - This Friday, 30th September 9:30-10:00am via ZOOM

* Please note that attendance for this session is compulsory for those who have applied.

* NOTE: If you are unable to attend this Enrolment Session, please let me know as soon as possible.

3) New student interview

A new student interview will take place over the phone on Friday following the enrolment session. This is a 5-10 minute conversation for us to chat about any queries you may have, finalise your individual application and fee type.

* If students have completed a Certificate III or higher previously.

* Eligible for skills first funding - $706.25

* Student has never completed a Certificate III or higher

First day of July’s class has been change to Friday 22nd July.

Would you like to join us on Friday 22nd July to study a nationally accredited course - Cert 3 in Education Support.
This is the first class for the upgraded course😊

If your course fees are more than you can do there are special places of exemption. Please put a note in your application to request for a reduced fee or exemption on your full fees. These places are saved for people that do not receive state funding.

APPLICATION PROCESS

* Please fill in your info on the link below. This is the VET online application: https://apply.eastern.edu.au/ (preferably before July 7th)

* Once you have filled in the online form, you will get an email from Daisy at Eastern College that includes:
* The details of the compulsory enrolment session including new student interview (once below is confirmed)
* A list of the ID required for admission
* A note that vaccination will be required (as they'll need it for their placement in the schools)

* Our Academic administration need all applicant information by July 8th to allow time for their processing.

ENROLMENT SESSION
* This will be held at Berwick Lodge Primary School

* Proposed dates
* Tuesday 5th July OR
* Friday 8th July

* Proposed times will be advised- please allow 2 hours.
* The first 30 minutes will be an all-in session
* after that Daisy will spend 5-10 mins with each applicant finalising their details. Once they've done this they can go home.
* I’ll try and organise for your teacher Gurmit Kaur to be with you as support.
