๐Ÿ‰ YEAR 6 AFL 9โ€™s BOYS REGIONAL FINALS ๐Ÿ‰

Yesterday our Year 6 AFL 9โ€™s Boys team competed at the Southern Metro Regional Finals after winning both the Edwin Flack District and Casey North Division Premierships undefeated.

The boys had a great win against Upper Beaconsfield PS, before a closely fought game did not go our way against Woodlands PS, a final win over Resurrection PS finished our group games and we qualified for the Semi Finals.

The boys played well but came up against a much taller and stronger opposition in St Joan of Arc PS, who eventually were named Premiers.
A final consolation game against Woodlands PS had us finish in 4th place but allowed the boys to rotate positions and have a bit of fun.

This ends the football season for many of our students, although we wish many of our students competing in Football finals at club level the best of luck as they approach their Semi Finals this weekend!

GO FIELDERS!!!

On Friday 7th August, our Foundation students travelled to Moonlit Sanctuary for their first excursion! What an exciting day it was!
Our excursion connects to our Term 3 Inquiry topic, where we are exploring the basic needs, life cycles and environmental adaptations of animals. Students had the opportunity to see and learn about a range of amazing Australian animals, including Kangaroos, Wallabies, Tasmanian Devils and Wombats, just to name a few!
It was fantastic to see our Foundation students so engaged, curious and excited as they explored the sanctuary.

Yesterday our Year 6 students enjoyed a fantastic day of outdoor learning at Lysterfield Lake!
Students explored the local natural environment through a bushwalk, took on a scavenger hunt and worked together through a range of fun team-building activities. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature, strengthen teamwork and make meaningful connections to the learning happening in our classrooms.

This Tuesday and Wednesday, our Grade 4 students enjoyed an engaging Rethink Recycle incursion. Through hands-on activities and interactive discussions, they learned about reducing waste, reusing materials, and the importance of recycling to help care for our environment. It was wonderful to see how engaged they were in during the incursion, learning about how we can recycle plastic milk bottles to create items used in everyday life.

๐Ÿ€ YEAR 5/6 HOOP TIME DAY 1 ๐Ÿ€

On Friday we had 47 students from Year 5 & 6 participate at Hoop Time at Cardinia Life Stadium in Pakenham.

Our teams all gave it a red hot go, with 4 of our 5 Future Stars Boys teams reaching the semi finals stage and our Rookies team winning 5 out of 6 games. From there, in the 2 grand finals being played Berwick Fields PS made up 3 of the 4 teams to compete. 2 epic battles occurred with our team of year 5 and year 6 students overcoming Trinity Catholic College, whilst in the other grand final we had 2 Berwick Fields PS teams going head to head. Unfortunately only 1 team could emerge the victor on the day. ๐Ÿ†

Congratulations to our 2 victorious teams who will join our Year 3/4 All Stars team in progressing to the Regional Finals of Hoop Time which will be held in October. ๐Ÿฅ‡

We are looking forward to our upcoming Year 3/4 and our next Year 5/6 Hoop Time days. ๐Ÿ€

On Tuesday 28th July, our Preps celebrated a milestone eventโ€”their '100th Day at School.' It was a day filled with joy and enthusiasm as our youngest students marked this special occasion. The classrooms were abuzz with excitement as the Preps embraced their inner '100-year-olds,' dressing up in adorable costumes that made them look like very tiny, very cute senior citizens.
