Kimekai Karate Berwick

Congratulations are in order for our sole representative at this year's Australian Open, Tara Dimovski.

Tara has been a part of our dojo since she began karate in 2023 with the late Sensei Peter.

She has been competing in Kumite since July 2024, where she won Gold in her first development level Victorian Karate League competition.

Since then, Tara has won multiple VKL titles, as well as a Bronze medal at last year's Australian Open, and a Silver medal at last year's National Championships.

Today, after overcoming some tough opponents, Tara won a Gold medal at the 2026 Australian Open.

This is Kimekai Berwick's first ever Gold medal at a National level, so please join us in congratulating Tara on this amazing achievement.

Congrats to all our members who competed recently at the Kimekai Club Championships for March. As a dojo, Berwick came away with 7 gold, 5 silver and 1 bronze. An outstanding effort!

Well done to our Cadets and Adults who successfully graded to their next belt over the past week!

Ben Harvey Kimekai Martial Arts

Congratulations to Sempai Ben on being selected to represent Australia at the Oceania Team Championships in Auckland, New Zealand in May.

This competition is the prime qualifying event for the World Cup in Hangzhou, China in November.

8 years ago today Sensei Peter and Sempai Ben kicked off the first ever class at Kimekai Karate Berwick for just one student!

Years later our karate family has grown enormously and we thank each and every one of you for your contribution to our development.
