👏 Exciting news: the Community Recycling Centre (CRC) is now accepting soft plastics ♻

Starting today, Hornsby Shire residents only can drop soft plastics off at the Thornleigh CRC for recycling.

In order to ensure the long-term sustainability of this service, please only drop off household quantities of dry and clean, soft plastics. We cannot accept any larger, stockpile quantities of soft plastics.

Your soft plastics will be sent to iQRenew, where they’ll be sorted, shredded, and transformed into reusable plastic pellets. These pellets will then be moulded into new items by other manufacturers – crates, buckets, kitchen caddies and more!

Stay tuned for ways you can get involved in supporting the local circular economy by purchasing some of these recycled plastic items.

✅ Keep familiar connections — talk about friends and educators from Early Education and Care environments to maintain a sense of belonging.
