Yesterday, our children helped bake blue cupcakes in preparation for Jeans for Genes Day. As they took part, we spoke about the importance of helping others and how even small acts of kindness can make a big difference.

Today, we sold the cupcakes to our wonderful families, with 100% of proceeds going towards the Jeans for Genes Foundation to support life-changing research into childhood genetic diseases.

Thank you to all of our amazing families for supporting such a meaningful cause. Every cupcake purchased helped bring hope to children and families affected by genetic conditions.

A big thank you to Berowra Fire and Rescue for visiting us at preschool!

The children loved learning about fire safety, including what to do in the event of an emergency, when to call 000, and how to Stop, Drop and Roll. The children also had the opportunity to explore the fire truck, spray the fire hose, and meet our incredible local firefighters.

Most importantly, the visit helped the children build confidence and understand that firefighters are trusted community helpers who are here to keep us safe. Thank you for such a great learning experience!

Turner Road Preschool had a special visit from Healthy Harold! Healthy Harold along with Natalie and taught as all about body boundaries, personal space and how to keep our bodies safe.

We learnt about private and public body parts and using the correct names for them, understanding that our bodies belong to us, and knowing who our safe people are if we ever need help. The children learnt some very important messages in a fun, child-friendly and interactive way.

Thank you to Berowra Public School for inviting us to your Preschool Sports Morning!

The children had the best time learning new sporting skills whilst connecting with the BPS kindergarten children and big Year 6 students! They loved getting a little feel for “big school” and joining in on all the fun activities throughout the morning.

A special thank you to for supplying the children with some delicious warm organic pretzels for morning tea before our long walk back to preschool. They were a big hit, children loved them!

Thank you Tim for visiting us at Turner Road Preschool!

The children loved learning about Indigenous culture through storytelling, songs, games and hands-on experiences. Tim shared cultural items including boomerangs, hunting spears, possum fur, kangaroo fur and natural materials, which the children were so excited to touch, feel and smell.

We also loved pretending to be Australian animals and joining in the dingo hunting game! Thank you, Tim, for spending the morning with us and sharing your stories, culture and knowledge with our children and creating such a meaningful experience for us all ✨

Loose parts are one of our favourite ways to spark creativity, imagination and collaboration at Turner Road Preschool 💫

We loved welcoming Reverse Garbage for a special visit, arriving with a van full of outdoor loose parts and recycled treasures for the children to explore.

The children were so engaged as they transformed materials into meaningful outdoor play experiences. They were building, creating, designing and inventing together.

One person’s garbage became another child’s treasure ♻️ 🌟

The children loved learning how to care for the worms and months later they are still thriving and producing so much “worm wee” that we’ve even been able to send some home for our families to use in their gardens🌷

Happy Mother’s Day to all of our beautiful mums, grandmothers and mother figures.

We loved spending the morning with you at preschool yesterday celebrating you and the important role you play in your children’s lives. The love, care, guidance and connection you provide every day helps shape such capable, confident and curious children.

Last week, our preschool children explored the meaning of ANZAC Day.

We set up provocations to spark curiosity and guide discussions about the ANZACs in a child-appropriate way. Focusing on bravery, helping others, and remembering those who cared for our country.

The children engaged in meaningful activities including baking ANZAC biscuits, creating poppies, and using recycled egg cartons to plant their own poppies in our garden.

We also came together for a minute of silence, giving the children a quiet moment to reflect and show respect in their own way.

These experiences helped build an early understanding of remembrance, community, and gratitude. Lest We Forget.

Our children have been so excited for Easter this year!

Over the past week, we set up an Easter provocation to spark conversations, curiosity and ideas. Through this, the children began sharing how they wanted to celebrate. With lots of chatting and reflecting together, they decided on a few very important things… they wanted to invite the Easter Bunny, have music to dance to, and most importantly, invite their parents to join in the fun.

So that’s exactly what we did!

A big thank you to our families for coming together with us. We love to connect and celebrate as a community.
