What an incredible day of culture, connection and leadership!

Students from Berkeley Public School and Berkeley West Public School came together for our Combined Junior AECG Day, sharing ideas, learning from one another and celebrating Aboriginal culture.

Throughout the day, students participated in Deadly Shares, worked together to read and retell Dreaming Stories, and began planning activities for Aboriginal Languages Week. They also enjoyed making wattle seed pancakes with Lilly Pilly jam, learning about the Lilly Pilly tree, and creating emu feather necklaces and armbands.

It was wonderful to see our young leaders working collaboratively, sharing their voices and strengthening connections between our schools.

This term, our students worked incredibly hard to prepare and present speeches for our public speaking competition. It takes real bravery and skills that are great for life!

We saw two students from each class go through to the stage finals, and what an amazing job they did.

Today, our stage winners competed against our Community of Schools (Berkeley West and Farmborough Rd Public School). Well done to Amalie, Ava, Calem, and Audrey, who did a fantastic job representing us.
A big congratulations to Amalie and Ava, who won first place in their respective stages!

We are so proud of all of you. Keep shining, Berkeley! 🌟
