***Survey closing Monday***
Curious about your drinking? Checkout how your drinking compares with the innovative chatbot dib! Researchers from National Drug Research Institute (NDRI) are inviting anybody who drinks alcohol to complete a short questionnaire using dib, a friendly chatbot on the Alcohol and Drug Foundation website.
Eligible participants who complete the ASSIST with dib and do a quick follow-up survey one week later will be offered compensation for their time.
But hurry, the survey closes August 31.

NDRI hosted a highly successful 2026 ISSDP international drug policy conference, attracting 250+ delegates from 20+ countries to Curtin University in Perth.
It was the first time the International Society for the Study of Drug Policy (ISSDP) conference had been held in Perth, with feedback suggesting it was a valuable opportunity to highlight policy issues in the southern hemisphere and a positive experience for delegates.

The National Drug Research Institute, host of the international 2026 ISSDP conference, gratefully acknowledges the support of the conference sponsors: the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing; Office of Alcohol and Other Drugs, Mental Health Commission; and, Business Events Perth.
Their support has helped bring 200 delegates from 20 countries to Perth for the three-day international conference next month.

Keynote speakers for in Perth in June have been confirmed…and a reminder to register for the conference and pre-conference workshops, and get your visa applications in. Keynote speakers for ISSDP 2026 are:

· Dr Marianne Jauncey – Public health physician and Medical Director of Australia’s first Supervised Injecting Centre, Marianne will deliver the Franz Trautmann Memorial Keynote Lecture.

· Dr Christopher M. Jones – Director of the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention in the United States and acting Director of the Center for Behavioral Health Statistics and Quality at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

· Dr Daniel Mejia – Professor of Economics at Universidad de los Andes in Colombia and previous President of the Colombian Government’s Drug Policy Advisory Commission and first Secretary of Security of Bogota.

· Judy Chang – Program Manager at Open Society Foundations and previous Executive Director of the International Network of People who Use Drugs (INPUD).
