BOOK WEEK | We’ve had such a wonderful morning at Coast celebrating Book Week and the joy of stories.

From Prep to Year 6, our students went all out, dressing up as their favourite book characters. Amongst a wide variety of fabulous costumes, we spotted Wally, The Lorax, Harry Potter, Mario, and were glad to see that the old lady did not swallow the fly! Our staff also joined in, bringing this year’s theme, A Symphony of Books, to life.

Our parade was full of colour, creativity, and big smiles, making it a fantastic way to celebrate a love of reading together.

A big congratulations to all our Book Week competition winners and to everyone who entered and made this week so much fun. And a massive thank you to our wonderful Library staff and various others who brought it all together.

ZONE ATHLETICS | What an incredible day at the Zone Athletics Carnival! Our students competed with determination, gave their very best, and represented CCS with outstanding sportsmanship and encouragement.

From start to finish, our team embodied the Coast way - cheering louder than anyone and celebrating every success. Our wonderful parents added to the incredible atmosphere with their enthusiastic support.

To top it all off, this was recognised as the most successful Zone Athletics Carnival in our school's history, with Coast finishing 2nd overall - an amazing achievement for our small school! Congratulations to Java, Ella, and Indigo who were all awarded Age Champions, and to Arwyn, Zac, and Clementine who each claimed third place Age Champion.

A huge thank you to Mrs Reitsma for her outstanding organisation and encouragement, and well done to every student, parent, and staff member who made the day so special. We couldn't be prouder.

PREP INCURSION | Do you know how to act safely around other dogs? This week our Prep students enjoyed a fun and informative visit from Darren, from the Living Safely with Dogs Program, and now they are experts!

The children learnt about when to leave dogs alone, how dogs use their body to communicate with us, and what to do if they see an angry dog. If they see a happy dog whose body is relaxed, they learnt to ask “May I pat your dog?”, to give the dog their closed fist to smell and then pat down the back. All of the boys of girls then had the opportunity to do this with Darren’s dog Volt, a beautiful border collie 🐾

WELCOME BACK! | After a well-deserved break, it's been wonderful to have all the boys and girls back on school grounds, full of smiles and bustling energy.

We were thrilled to welcome seven new students to Coast today, and they are settling in beautifully already.

COMPASSION HAT DAY | At Coast, we love to show kindness and generosity, and today was no exception. Our playground was filled with colourful and creative hats as students wore a hat of their choice to raise money for our Compassion sponsor children.

Together, we raised over $590!

KINDY EXCURSION | Our Kindergarten students recently enjoyed a wonderful day exploring Kincumba Mountain Reserve and Copacabana Beach as part of their Geography studies.

With beautiful weather and plenty to discover, they explored a cave, admired towering angophora trees, and modelled some features of our local community in the sand. To top it all off, they were treated to a spectacular surprise - breaching whales spotted from the shore!

A fantastic day of learning, exploring, and appreciating the beauty of our local area.

CIS CROSS COUNTRY | So Proud of Our Team!

Last Thursday, six Coast Christian School students competed at the CIS Cross Country Championships - the largest team we've ever had qualify at this level. Out of the 74 CSSA schools, only three schools had more qualifiers than us. What an incredible achievement for our small school.

Despite the wet and muddy conditions, every student raced with grit and determination. All six runners beat their CSSA times, a fantastic reflection of their hard work and perseverance.

Congratulations to all our amazing athletes. We are so proud of the way you represented Coast.

STAGE 2 EXCURSION | Stage 2 recently enjoyed a wonderful day at the Alison Homestead Museum in Wyong, stepping back in time to experience first-hand what life in a small pioneering community in the early 1800s would have felt like.

From exploring historic buildings, tools and household items to seeing an old schoolhouse, phone box, fire engine and even the punishment stocks, there was plenty to discover!

The day was topped off with some old-fashioned fun in the paddock, including sack races, tug of war and egg-and-spoon races. A fantastic day of hands-on learning and adventure.
