A student can cross the world to study here.

What helps them feel at home is often much closer than they expected.

A welcoming family. A seat at the dinner table. Someone who asks how their day went.

We're looking for local families interested in hosting international students studying at our school.

No experience is needed, and support is provided throughout the process.

If you'd like to open your home and help shape a student's Australian experience, contact us for more information 🌏❤️

Ask young people what they think. Then really listen.

Last night School Captains Ava and Rahaf were invited to join a panel at the launch of Zonta Gold Coast Inc., alongside Bell MP and Bela Wilson, Zonta QAHS Z Club President. Their role was an important one: to bring the perspective of young people into the conversation.

The topic was the future of girls and young women, and some of the questions went well beyond the usual panel conversation.

How can adults genuinely connect with young people?

What opportunities do young women have today that previous generations didn't?

What would you change for the girls coming after you?

Ava and Rahaf spoke about self-doubt, comparison and education, and what can happen when girls are given the chance to recognise their own potential.

We loved seeing them in that room, sharing what they think rather than having someone else speak on their behalf.

Thank you to Zonta Gold Coast Inc. for inviting them to the table and, more importantly, being interested in what they had to say.

Every move starts with a question. ♟️

What happens next?

Students have the opportunity to learn from professional chess instructors, developing the skills that sit behind every strong decision: patience, strategy and thoughtful problem-solving.

We can't wait to see students challenge themselves, explore new ways of thinking and discover how much can be learned from a single move on the board.

Register your student for the Chess Coaching Program here: https://portal.iclasspro.com/gardinerchess/classes?programs=72
Registrations close 15th September.

The most impressive thing at Fusion wasn't hanging on the walls. 🎨

It was the stories behind the work.

The sketch that didn't quite work the first time.

The idea that changed halfway through.

The piece that took far longer than expected.

Our annual Fusion Art Exhibition gave students the chance to share what they had created throughout the year. Looking around the room, you could see creativity everywhere. You could also see persistence, problem-solving and confidence that had grown over time.

The finished artworks were incredible.

Seeing students stand proudly beside them was even better.

Congratulations to all of our artists who helped make this year's exhibition such a memorable celebration of learning and achievement.

Some of the things we're proudest of can't be measured by a grade.

School Captain, Charlotte, travelled to Parliament House in Brisbane to receive a Secondary Schools Citizenship Award from The Order of Australia Association.

And it's what this award recognises that makes her achievement so special. Charlotte has been recognised for citizenship, community service and her commitment to making a difference. These awards celebrate Year 12 students who contribute to the communities around them and encourage young Australians to understand the importance of service and involvement.

There will be plenty of results and milestones to celebrate as our Year 12s finish school. But watching them become young people who genuinely care about the world around them? We're pretty proud of that too.

Congratulations, Charlotte.

Leadership doesn't start when someone gives you a title.

It starts when you decide to get involved.

Next year, students will have the opportunity to join our new Zonta Z Club and Rotary Interact Club.

Whether you're passionate about helping others, leading projects, advocating for change or connecting with your community, this is your chance to be part of something meaningful.

The biggest difference-makers aren't always the people standing in front.

Sometimes they're the people willing to step forward.
