🏀 A MOMENT WORTH SHARING 🏀

Tonight’s game between Beavers & Aztec had everything and the best part had nothing to do with the scoreboard.

Henry doesn’t take a lot of shots, so when his teamed learned he was sitting on 199 points, his Beavers crew rallied behind him, making the nights goal, to feed him the ball but despite their best efforts the shots just wouldn’t drop.

Then a young gun from the opposition, Will Isaacs, figured out what they were doing, grabbed the rebound, passed it straight to Henry, and stepped back to let him take the shot. It went in. 🙌🏻

That’s what this game is about. Talent is great, but character is everything. Massive thanks to Aztec Tiger Will for a moment Henry won’t forget. Congrats to Henry on achieving 200 buckets, and more kids like Will please. 💪🏼🏀❤️🤍

📣 Introducing Ash John – Acting Vice President & Sponsorship Coordinator 📣

We’re pleased to share that Ash John has stepped into the role of Acting Vice President, while continuing in his ongoing role as Sponsorship Coordinator for the Club.

Ash is already playing a key role behind the scenes securing and managing sponsorships, and is now also supporting leadership and direction for Phoenix during this period.

This is a strong example of someone contributing across multiple areas to help keep the Club moving forward for our players and families.

🤝 We’re always looking for more people to join the Committee and get involved where they can — every contribution, big or small, makes a real difference.

🏀 On Court Highlight – U16 Phoenix Zinger Boxes 🏀

There has been plenty to be proud of across all age groups this season, and our U16 group has delivered a real standout moment.

Originally graded into Division 2, the Phoenix Zinger Boxes were moved up into Division 1 during grading and have taken on the challenge with great determination.

Their hard work and persistence paid off this week with their first win in Division 1 — a significant moment for the group and a great sign of how far they’ve come already this season.

A fantastic effort from the entire team. 💙🧡

Phoenix is looking for U12 & U18 Boys players for the current season.

We have limited spots available in:
• U12 Division 8 team
• U18 Division 2 team
• U18 Division 5 team

This is a great opportunity for players looking to join a supportive club environment, develop their skills, and be part of a strong basketball community.

If you know someone who might be interested, please help us spread the word and encourage them to come along and give it a go.

📣 Thank You Kathryn Patarica – Acting Treasurer Support 📣

We would like to sincerely thank Kathryn Patarica for stepping in from outside the Club to assist with Acting Treasurer support.

This support has been required following the departure of our elected Treasurer due to compassionate reasons, and Kathryn’s assistance is helping ensure continuity in the short term.

⚠️ We must be clear that the Club still urgently requires a Treasurer to ensure ongoing financial governance and operational stability. Interim arrangements are in place, but this is a critical ongoing role.

🤝 If you, or someone you know, may be able to assist, we would really appreciate hearing from you — even an initial conversation can help.
