Why am I posting about the Bendigo Farmers Market? Well here at Ecology of Learning EVERYTHING is text!! And surely food literacy is as important as any other sort of literacy. A trip to a market like this can be the most wonderful family literary experience: decide what you need/want, write a shopping list together, collect enough bags and baskets to carry everything. Then wander around together engaging in conversations about produce and when you get home!! Helping our children to be more literate with food helps them (and us) to think about what part we all play in food security.

Did you hear?! We are moving back! The building is complete so we are headed back to 227 Breen Street, Golden Square as of the 9th of November! Be sure to come and support our local farmers and for November market you can also tour the new building! With 45+ stall holders, community BBQ and entertainment it is sure to be a fantastic day!!

Cannot begin to tell you what a wonderful time I've had at the Bendigo Writers Festival talking books, illustrations and ideas with Sophie Masson and Lorena Carrington : Tales as Old as Time - we missed you Kate Forsyth - get well soon. Catching up with old friends Lauren Mitchell, Tash Roberts, Wendy Bridges, Wendy and Rosie, Prue, Ali, Jonathan Ridnell and meeting lots of new ones too.

My weekend kicked off listening to and being a part of another fabulous ABC Central Victoria, ABC listen OB (Outside Broadcast) hosted by Jonathan Kendal and Fiona Parker. What a great job the team did - thanks Fi and Rebecca Norman for inviting me.

VALE Bob Newhart, one of Dad and Uncle Den’s fave comedians. The master of deadpan delivery- his skit about Sir Walter Raleigh and importing to***co is my personal favourite- absolute cracker!!!No doubt he’s cracking everyone up wherever he is. He was 94!
