The Girton Class of 1996 and those who would have graduated in 1996 are warmly invited to The Brougham Arms in Bendigo for a night of friendship and fun.

The event will officially start at 6.00pm on Saturday 8 August, in one of their private function rooms where you can enjoy a sit-down meal where you can select your meal from the menu (pay on the night), plus drinks are available to purchase from the bar at bar prices. Partners are most welcome.

A school tour will depart from the Peppercorn Tree at 2.30pm for those interested in a walk down memory lane, family members most welcome.

Mrs Dorothy Crothers - OGA 13/05/2026

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Girton College’s former Deputy Headmistress, Mrs Dorothy Crothers, on Thursday 7 May.

Mrs Crothers made a lasting contribution to the Girton community through her dedication, warmth, and commitment to generations of students and staff. She will be remembered with great respect and affection by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A Thanksgiving Service celebrating Dorothy’s life will be held at St Paul’s Cathedral, 6 Myers Street, Bendigo, on Tuesday 19 May at 2.00pm.

Corporal Edgar "Ted" Millward - First World War – RSL Victoria 29/04/2026

As we reflect on ANZAC Day just gone, we invite our community to read this moving profile shared by RSL Victoria.

It tells the story of Corporal Edgar “Ted” Millward, who was killed in action during the First World War, and was the son of Alice Millward, founding principal of Girton College.

Ted’s story is a powerful reminder of the personal cost of service and the deep connections between our school’s early history and those who served.
