Dead Ibis found at Lake Weeroona earlier this week have tested negative for H5N1 bird flu.

Further testing is being undertaken by Agriculture Victoria to determine the cause of illness.

While these birds were not infected with H5N1 bird flu, we'd like to remind the community to continue to Avoid. Record. Report. to help protect our wildlife against the spread of bird flu.

If you see sick or dead birds or wildlife:

• AVOID contact with sick or dead wild birds or wildlife and their environment
• RECORD what you see
• REPORT it to the Emergency Animal Disease Hotline or online through the Agriculture Victoria website

Step inside the Bendigo Town Hall and discover something extraordinary 🌈✨

The historic Bendigo Town Hall is opening its doors for a new series of free exhibition, installations and commissions presented by Bendigo Art Gallery.

The inaugural season features two major programs.

🦜 Thrifty Swifty 🦜

Contemporary artist Rosie Deacon presents ‘Thrifty Swifty’, a new commission created especially for Bendigo Town Hall. Inspired by Australian flora and fauna, including the vibrant Swift Parrot, the installation transforms discarded materials, op shop finds and salvaged objects into a colourful habitat filled with surreal creatures.

⚔️ CHARGE! Agincourt ⚔️

Also on display is ‘CHARGE! Agincourt’, a dramatic multisensory experience by Australia’s acclaimed Back to Back Theatre in collaboration with ACMI. This contemporary reimagining of Shakespeare’s Henry V retells the battle of Agincourt through a new screen commission set inside a modern paper factory in western Victoria.

Don’t forget to return your ballot pack for the Lockwood Ward by-election before tomorrow!

Your completed ballot pack must be in the mail or hand-delivered to an election office by 6pm on Friday October 2 to be counted.

If you haven’t received your ballot pack, you can collect a replacement from the election office at 36 Torrens Street, Marong.

Voting closes on Friday October 2 – if you don’t vote, you may get a fine.

A Heritage Overlay helps protect places with heritage values and significance while allowing them to continue to be used and enjoyed.

This free session is a great chance to hear from the City’s Heritage Advisor and planners who will explain the process and answer your questions after the session.
