Creating a safe sleep environment is one of the many ways we care for children each day. From following safe sleep practices and using approved cots, to completing visual checks every 5 minutes, our educators take every step to help children rest safely and comfortably.

We also work closely with families to understand each child's individual sleep routine, because feeling safe, settled and well-rested helps children learn, grow and thrive.

Reconciliation isn’t limited to one day or one special occasion — it is something we nurture every day through our interactions, conversations, story sharing and connections with our community.

Together, we are learning about the land we live, learn and play on, building respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, stories and perspectives. Through meaningful experiences and ongoing conversations, we encourage our children to develop a sense of belonging, respect and connection to Dja Dja Wurrung Country and community.

Earlier this year, every Goodstart family received a What & When for Families guide for each child. If it's been tucked away in a drawer since then, now might be the perfect time to pull it back out.

The guide is packed with simple, play-based activities that support your child's learning and development at home. Best of all, it's written in your child's voice, with ideas tailored to their age and developmental stage.

From singing songs with babies and playing peek-a-boo, to "I Spy" games, storytelling and treasure hunts with older children, the activities are designed to fit naturally into everyday moments you already share together.

We know learning doesn't only happen in the classroom. Those small moments at home can help build big communication, language and literacy skills.
