USA Update Incoming!

After a week of sight seeing, our students are now settled in Tulsa where the weather is sitting at round 38 degrees. Our students have completed their first few days at Victory Christian School, receiving a warm welcome at the Victory Chapel Service. They are doing a fantastic job mixing with their American peers and are happy with their host families.

Term Three has been the Term of Camps! ⛺

This term alone we have had an incredible EIGHT school camps, including wonderful camp experiences for our Junior School students over the past 2 weeks.

Our Year 2 students enjoyed an exciting camp at Campaspe Downs. The overnight camp was a wonderful opportunity for our students to build their confidence, develop new skills and create memories with friends of sharing stories and laughter before bed, soaring through the air on the Possum Glider, learning outdoor skills during Bush Craft, and working together to complete Orienteering challenges.

Our Year 3 students embarked on an wonderful adventure at Adekate Camp. While being away from home for 2 nights was a huge undertaking for some, our fabulous students rose to the challenge and enjoyed many great activities such as zipline, archery, low ropes, making damper, a night walk and talent quest.

Our Year 2 and 3 students returned home tired but with big smiles and lots of stories to share from their memorable camp adventures....and we are so proud of them!

Last Tuesday 8th September, 39 of our Secondary students made the most of a beautiful day at the Sandhurst Interschool Athletics Carnival. It was fantastic to see such positive representation and school spirit, with students cheering on and supporting one another throughout the day.

We had many students make it onto the podium, and several have now qualified to compete at the regional level — a wonderful achievement!

A special mention to Jenna Gaskell, Mila Childs, and Cooper Bulhakow, who were each named Age Champion for their division. Mila also broke the Sandhurst record in Long Jump for her age with a 5.08.

Congratulations to all our athletes on a great day of competition!

LET THE GREAT AUSSIE ADVENTURE BEGIN! 🇦🇺🚌⛺

Our Year 9/10/11 students are off on an unforgettable trip to Central Australia!

The bus was filled with students’ favourite tunes as the group made their way to South Australia on Day One - with stops at Salt Lake and Red Cliffs along the way - before then travelling from the Murray River to Port Augusta on Day Two. An impromptu stop at Germaine Pier where the tide was low provided the perfect opportunity for students to stretch their legs across the sand flats.

Our group has settled into camp life wonderfully, and we wish them a safe, blessed trip as they explore the heart of Australia.

Next stop: Coober Pedy!

Celebrating our annual Senior Music Recital where this year's theme "The Lyrebird's Call" brought together a remarkable collection of items in recognition of Australian music.

An appreciative audience enjoyed a wonderful range of solo performances from talented instrumentalists, singers and dancers. Students involved in VCC’s Chapel and Generations in Jazz bands also took to the stage, along with this year’s Victory’s Got Talent winner.

It was exciting to celebrate a number of students receiving awards for the dedication, skill, and musical excellence they have demonstrated throughout the year, with Makayla Lea taking out the Musician of the Year award.

Last week, our Year Seven students had a wonderful relationship building time on camp in Halls Gap.

Our Strathdale and Epsom campuses combined for the three days away where students and staff spent their days hiking, abseiling, testing their courage on a high ropes course and mingling with animals at the Halls Gap Zoo.

In the evening, our campers came together for trivia on the first night and a Chapel Service run by VYBE on the second evening - Thank you, VYBE crew!

Our students are to be congratulated for the way they stepped outside their comfort zones and encouraged each other along the way. Well done, all!

The VCC gymnasium was buzzing with activity last Thursday when the New Zealand Breakers visited our Strathdale Campus!

Our Year 8-10 VESA Basketball athletes were privileged to take part in a training session with the Breakers, who were visiting Bendigo for the NBL Blitz. The session provided an opportunity for our students to learn from players at the highest level and gain valuable insights into what it takes to succeed in professional basketball.

It was fantastic to see so many VCC students and staff enjoying the session over lunchtime where our younger students also had the opportunity to meet the Breakers players and collect an autograph.

🏃‍♀️ AUSTRALIAN ATHLETICS JUNIOR RACE WALKING CHAMPIONSHIPS 🏃‍♀️

Congratulations to Year 6 student Pippa Coleman, who came third in her age division at the 2026 Australian Athletics Junior Race Walking Championships in Ballarat on Sunday 23rd August.

The championships drew competitors from all over the country and is the highest division available for race walking in Pippa's age bracket. This result now sees Pippa ranked second nationally, a truly amazing achievement!

We are extraordinarily proud of Pippa, who has trained tirelessly, and celebrate this wonderful achievement with her.

Last week, our Year 4 students headed off on a three-day adventure to Oasis Camp.

Blessed with beautiful weather, it was the perfect opportunity for activities such as the Flying Fox, Giant Swing, Rock Climbing, Low Ropes Course, Archery and Crate-Stacking. The group was also thoroughly entertained with a Talent Quest performed by students.

Our Primary staff were impressed by the way students encouraged, supported and celebrated one another as they took on each new challenge. For some students, it was their first camp experience, and we are incredibly proud of the way they stepped up to this experience.

A heartfelt thank you to our Primary staff and wonderful parent helpers for making the camp a memorable experience for our Year 4 students!
