🎤 Grade 3/4 Public Speaking Finals!

What a way to finish the term! 🎤👏

Throughout the term, our Grade 3/4 students have been developing their public speaking skills — learning how to prepare a speech, communicate their ideas and confidently present in front of an audience.

Today, all of that hard work culminated in our Public Speaking Finals, with our finalists taking to the stage in front of the school!

Congratulations to Carys, Ollie and Lottie, who took out our top three places! 🏆 An incredible achievement, but also a huge congratulations to every student who challenged themselves and developed their confidence throughout the term.

A big thank you to Mr Sampson, Mrs Williams and Miss Lloyd for all of the teaching, encouragement and support they have given our students along the way.

We are very proud of them all! 🌟

🌱 A greener St Kilian’s!

What a difference a day makes! 🌱☀️

Our new turf from Coolabah Turf has been laid and this part of our oval is looking fantastic! After plenty of preparation over the last few days, it was exciting to see the rolls going down today and some green returning to our school grounds.

There’s still plenty happening around St Kilian’s with our playground and building works underway, but it’s exciting to see another piece of the puzzle coming together.

Acca, our handyman from FTD Handyman & Gardening Services, has put in a power of work to get the turf laid so he deserves a massive shoutout! If you need some jobs done around the house, give him a call!

We can’t wait for our students to be able to enjoy this beautiful new space! 💚

A huge thank you to the Grade 6’s who jumped in, parents (Bec, Jack, Tam, Amy, Dane), Acca our handyman and everyone else involved in making it happen!

🏕️ Grade 5 Camp — Day 3!

And that’s a wrap on Grade 5 Camp! 🏕️👏

The final day at Campaspe Downs brought another couple of brilliant activities — laser tag in the great outdoors and the flying fox over the lake! 🔫🌳

There was only one casualty who managed to hit the water on the flying fox… but we won’t mention any names! 😂💦

After three action-packed days, everyone is now on the bus home and we suspect there will be plenty of tired kids ready for a hot shower and a comfy bed tonight!

A huge thank you again to Mr Whiteacre, Mrs Thompson, Mrs Landinguin and Mrs Maher for making the camp possible and giving our Grade 5s such a fantastic experience. We hope everyone has made some wonderful memories! ❤️

🏕️ Grade 5 Camp – Day Two! 🏕️

What a day! Our Grade 5s packed plenty into Day Two at Campaspe Downs!

After a hearty breakfast of eggs and hash browns, it was straight into another full day of activities. The kids took on Aeroball, the Centipede, initiative games and the Giant Swing, with plenty of teamwork, courage and encouragement along the way! 💪

There was also some well-earned free time to enjoy the wide-open spaces, with chicken burgers for lunch keeping everyone fuelled for the afternoon.

The day finished with some very wacky games and plenty of laughs! 😂

After everything they’ve squeezed into the last two days, we’re expecting some very tired Grade 5s tonight! 😴 One more day of camp fun before heading home tomorrow! 💙💛

🌱 Something exciting is happening on our oval! 🌱

You may have noticed a bit of heavy machinery around St Kilian’s today! Our oval has been dug up and prepared, ready for brand new turf from Coolabah Turf to be laid tomorrow! 🙌💚

It’s certainly looking a little different at the moment, but we’re very excited about what’s to come. The new turf will give our students a greener, more usable space to run, play and enjoy together.

There were plenty of excited faces watching the work unfold today — and we can’t wait to see the transformation! 🌿☀️

Stay tuned for the finished product! 💚💛

🏕️ Grade 5 Camp – Day One! 🏕️

Our Grade 5s have officially begun their two-night camp at Campaspe Downs in Kyneton — and it was certainly a fresh start! 🥶

There was no shortage of adventure on Day One, with students taking on abseiling and the sensory trail, working together to navigate an obstacle course while blindfolded. Plenty of courage, teamwork and trust on display!

After a big day, everyone enjoyed a delicious roast chicken and veggie dinner before finishing the night around the campfire with songs and toasted marshmallows. 🔥🎶

A huge thank you to Mr Whiteacre, Mrs Thompson, Mrs Landinguin and Mrs Maher for all of their organisation, support and care in making this experience possible for our Grade 5s. 💙💛

A brilliant first day — bring on Day Two! 🏕️✨

🏅💚 Congratulations, Miss Barkmeyer! 💚🏅

We are incredibly proud to celebrate our very own Miss Barkmeyer, who has been crowned the 2026 Betty Thompson Medallist after an outstanding season with Kangaroo Flat FNC! 🏆

Miss Barkmeyer claimed the league’s highest individual A-Grade netball honour with an incredible 33 votes, including nine best-on-court performances across the season.

We are so fortunate to have Miss Barkmeyer as part of our St Kilian’s community. Our students know her not only as a brilliant athlete, but as a wonderful role model who brings the same commitment, energy and care to our school community.

What an achievement, Miss Barkmeyer! The whole St Kilian’s community is incredibly proud of you. 💚💛

Congratulations, Miss Barkmeyer — 2026 Betty Thompson Medallist! 🥇👏🏐

💛 R U OK? Day 💛

Today we marked R U OK? Day, a reminder of just how important it is to check in with the people around us.

Sometimes a simple question — “Are you OK?” — and taking the time to genuinely listen can make a real difference.

As a Catholic community, we are called to notice one another, to listen with compassion and to walk alongside those who may be finding things difficult. Today was a great reminder that caring for each other is something we can all do, every day.

Our staff also shared a special R U OK? Day morning tea, taking some time to put the busyness aside, connect and enjoy each other’s company. 💛

Ask. Listen. Encourage action. Check in.

And remember — you don’t need to be an expert to reach out. You just need to care. 💛

🚒 A very exciting visit for our Preps! 🔥

There was plenty of excitement at St Kilian’s today as our Prep students welcomed some special visitors from Fire Rescue Victoria!

The firefighters spoke with the students about fire safety, what firefighters do and how they help keep our community safe. Then came the part everyone was waiting for — heading outside to explore the fire truck and even having a turn with the fire hose! 💦🚒

Our Preps had plenty of questions and absolutely loved getting up close to the equipment and learning from real firefighters.

A huge thank you to our visiting firefighters for giving our students such a fun, memorable and important learning experience! ❤️🚒
