Our 3–4 classes had a fantastic day exploring Jirrahlinga Wildlife Sanctuary! 🦘🦎
We had the opportunity to see lots of incredible Australian wildlife and learn more about our amazing native animals.

A very special highlight was being lucky enough to pat dingos, including an adorable dingo puppy, a wombat and some friendly lizards!

It was a fantastic experience and a great way to bring our learning about living and non-living things and Australian animals to life.

📚 BOOK WEEK 📚

What a busy week celebrating our love of books, reading and storytelling.
We participated in many fun activities, starting off with our cross age art day. We read the book 'Frogs are our Friends', learnt some facts about frogs and ended up with a pond full of 'Freddos'.
Our dress up parade saw many favourite book characters at school. A big thanks to our wider school community for the effort put in to see an amazing array of costumes on display
The Blurbs entertained us again with a fantastic show, bringing books to life with lots of singing and dancing.
The grade 3-6 children were involved in the Bendigo Library’s 'Book Week Blast' with visits from author Lauren Mitchell and narrator Stig Wemyss.
We finished off the week with a lovely afternoon of 'buddy' reading.

On Thursday, our 5/6 students headed out for an exciting Passions & Pathways excursion!

We had the opportunity to visit various businesses around Bendigo, learning about the services they provide and uncovering some potential career pathways for after leaving Cal Gully.

BOOK WEEK AND PARADE
WEDNESDAY AUGUST 26th

The theme for the 2026 Children's Book Week, which runs from August 22nd to
28th, is 'Symphony of Stories', encouraging young readers to explore new worlds through books.
We will celebrate across the week, with the all-important Book Parade (weather permitting) taking place on Wednesday August 26th at 9:00
a.m.
