Last Term, our Year 10 students entered the workplace. While they had to adjust to new expectations and routines, they were able to experience potential careers close-up, supported by experts in fields.

They supported workplace operations, watched professionals at work, and were able to participate and contribute themselves within workplaces in a variety of diverse industries, including healthcare, pharmacy, veterinary medicine, education, and mechanical and electrical trades.

Many students were able to gain greater clarity about what they want out of a career, and the skills and attributes they need to succeed. But Year 10 didn’t just learn; they also had fun! Students were able to watch surgeries, help mix medications, cuddle adorable animals, and enjoy the various quirks and small joys that come with the workplace.

From one week, they gained a wealth of knowledge, and an exciting glimpse of what the future may hold.

Towards the end of August, our Year 3's had a sleepover at the Discovery Centre. Conversations about going down the vertical slide, sleeping, food and the planetarium were high on the list of excited lunchtime topics.

The Discovery Centre had a LEGO theme of Curiosity, so we had many opportunities to build with LEGO too. Did you know there are over 658 million possible combinations using six standard 2x4 LEGO bricks? The giant-sized LEGO rocket next to the giant dinosaur greeted us on the way to setting up our sleeping bags.
The fun continued with engineering concepts and discussions about the slide. Courageous students and leaders took the plunge and others saved their courage for another day to go vertical!

The planetarium experience in the dome theatre was amazing seeing constellations, galaxies and stars ignite as part of the wonders of our universe.

We enjoyed the Discovery Centre and had lots to share with our families about the slide, sleep, the movie, friends, the planetarium and LEGO.

This year's Science Week theme, Seeds of Knowledge, explored where knowledge comes from and the small sparks of curiosity that grow into a love of science. We embraced the theme with a literal twist, running ""Guess the type of Seed"" and ""Number of Seeds in a test tube"" competitions.

Throughout the week, students enjoyed a range of hands-on activities around the yard, including colourful experiments like floating ink art, colouring seeds of knowledge pictures, and a scavenger hunt uncovering fascinating facts about famous scientists. There was plenty of excitement too, with water rockets launching into the sky (and some on the roof), wrapping up the week in true crowd pleasing style with the classic Mentos in Coke eruptions.

It was a fantastic week of hands-on learning, curiosity, and fun — encouraging even the smallest seeds of knowledge to grow into a lifelong love of discovery.

Every year Australia celebrates Book Week; 5 days of celebrating the important role literacy plays in the lives of Australian children. 🤩

At Creek Street, we love to focus on the best story of all, God’s story of redemption for humanity through the death and resurrection of Jesus. Along with at-home devotionals, break-time readers and in-class activities, Book Week also included our dress up parade!

Both Primary and Secondary students got right into the spirit of the day, dressing up as their favourite book characters and parading for their peers. We had hobbits, animals, crayons, W***y Wonkas and even a wardrobe!

📚 What a Wonderful Book Fair! 📚

Our Book Fair on 13–14 August was a wonderful celebration of literacy and a love of reading!

Bright Hope Books, a Christian bookshop, showcased a great range of Christian resources, with many items in the $5–$10 price range, as well as children’s books, young adult titles, devotionals, Bibles, gifts and more.

Lamont Books featured exciting 2026 CBCA new titles and a wonderful selection of stories exploring friendship, kindness and adventure, along with plenty of funny stories to enjoy.

Thank you to everyone who visited and supported the Book Fair. It was wonderful to see so much enthusiasm for books and reading, and to celebrate the importance of literacy together! 📖✨

On Thursday, 6th August the Year Prep and One children participated in the 2026 Mini Commonwealth Games.

The athletes, with the guidance of the Year Ten students completed the eight activities with enthusiasm.

King Josh (AKA Mr Josh Ball) officially opened the games. We now look forward to the Mini Olympic Games in 2028.
