We had another great turnout for Tradie Connect last week, bringing local trades and trade-related businesses together to talk all things team culture.

A huge thank you to Kurt Ross from Evolution Pools & Spas, Daniel Holloway from Holloway Air and Electrical and Kirsty and Dennis Ash from Strath Hill Butcher for getting behind the mic and sharing the good, the challenging and plenty of lessons learned along the way.

There were lots of laughs, honest conversations and practical takeaways about leading people, setting expectations and creating a workplace where people want to be.

That’s what Tradie Connect is all about. Bringing local business owners together to share experiences, learn from each other and make some great connections along the way.

Another great morning of learning and conversation as our Strategem Executive Masterclass Series continued this week ✨

For our second session, we welcomed Dylan Flavell, Managing Director of Spring Point, who explored the challenge of balancing purpose, performance, people and profit to build sustainable organisations.

Dylan unpacked some of the competing tensions leaders navigate every day, from purpose versus performance and today versus tomorrow, to empowerment and accountability, prompting plenty of discussion and reflection around the room.

A big thank you to Dylan for sharing his knowledge and insights, to City of Greater Bendigo for hosting us at Galkangu and to everyone who joined us for another valuable session.

Our October After 5 is heading to La Trobe University 🎓

As part of this year’s Business Unboxed program, we’re giving our network the chance to step inside the newly redeveloped Health Sciences 1 building at La Trobe University, Bendigo Campus.

Guests will tour the new clinical simulation and teaching facilities, including midwifery and acute care simulation labs, treatment teaching rooms and student learning spaces.

It’s a great opportunity to see how these new facilities are helping prepare the next generation of health professionals, learn more about La Trobe’s investment in health education here in Bendigo and, of course, catch up with others from across our business community.

And that’s a wrap on the 2026 Bendigo Bank and Be.Bendigo Business Excellence Awards! 🎉

We recently brought together our 2026 winners, sponsors, judges and program partners for one final celebration at the Dja Dja Wurrung Community Corporate and Community Centre, proudly sponsored by Bendigo Bank.

We heard from Be.Bendigo CEO Hayley Tibbett, Bendigo Bank Executive and Chief Marketing Officer Sarah Bateson and Rhett Nankervis, Site Manager at Thales Bendigo, our 2026 Business of the Year winner.

A big thank you to Crooked Kitchen for keeping everyone well fed and AJ from Bendigo Photos for capturing the evening.

Most importantly, congratulations once again to all our 2026 winners. It was a wonderful way to close out this year’s Awards and celebrate the people and businesses making an impact across Greater Bendigo.
