This week I have been reflecting on the benefits of multi-age learning. I see so many wonderful examples of this every week in family day care. There is something very special about children learning from each other, supporting each other, and growing alongside one another.

Calling All Parents of Girls Aged 4-6!
Has your little one had a growth spurt and outgrown her summer clothes? We are in need of gently used, good-condition summer tops & bottoms in sizes 4-6.
If you have any that your daughter no longer fits, we would be so grateful to have them, so we can fill clothing packs for other little girls!

One thing that comes to mind when I think of Christmas time in Australia, is the beautiful Calistemon flowers! The children have LOVED incorporating these into our play with play dough this week.

Wow! How lucky am I to have these amazing new logos for my family day care? Louise from The Design Pond has created these incredible logos for our family day care. Louise is part of our family day care community with her children attending my service, which makes this even more special to me! I would love to share Louise's words with you about the design of my logo.
'Utilizing the well-known imagery of a rainbow to symbolise optimism, the Imagine Family Day Care logo communicates this positive, uplifting, and forward-thinking attitude,
which is at the heart of the business. The hand-illustrated rainbow features an outer wavy line – representing ongoing opportunity beyond the rainbow (i.e., ongoing into the
lives of the children who attend the service, beyond their time at day care), as well as offering an organic feel to the logo, which may be interpreted as sun rays, nature,
and creativity – which are key features of daily life at Imagine Family Day Care Bendigo.'
Such beautiful words, and such amazing images that I get to use to represent my business. Thanks again Louise The Design Pond

I really love how the children make our space their own. They didn’t ask me if they could decorate the walls of the house, they just did it! They know that this space, especially our outdoor space where we spend so much of our time, is their space. They’ve been working on decorating these brick walls with chalk for a number of weeks now, returning to it when inspiration strikes. It’s in a fairly sheltered spot, so the chalk doesn’t wash away in the rain. I think their art work is beautiful and it makes my house look very colourful indeed!

This week marks a year since re-opening my family day care, and 5 years in the family day care sector overall. I’m so grateful for the amazing children and families that I get to share this journey with. I’m looking forward to many more years in family day care with my little friends 💚💛

Our poor wattle tree is completely bent over from the recent wind and storms! The children are loving it though and are drawn to it, pulling the wattle off and rubbing it between their fingers, and even trying to hide amongst the wattle 💛

The children love it when my son joins us for a play. Today he has been reading books to the children. It’s so special for the children to have a friend who is slightly older who will read to them and play with them. We are loving reading lots of classic books for Book Week as well as some books shared with us by the children from their homes 📚
