Part Three - Thank you Mayor
A big Thank you to the Mayor for taking time to visit us today
We hope you enjoyed the special gifts created for you by the children
Thank you also to Rachel (Bendigo Community Health )for coming on this journey with us , we are so grateful for your support and the meaningful contributions you made along the way.
What began with the simple story of Mrs Honey's Tree blossomed into an incredible learning experience

Part Two - The excitement grew as the children spotted the Mayor's car arriving
they made their way to the fence to welcome our special visitor
Once inside children spent more time with the Mayor , learning more about his important role in the community.
Children were curious about the special clothing he wore
Children then had an opportunity to ask the Mayor their own questions

Part One - Preparing for the Mayors Visit Excitement filled the Preschool toady as we prepared for a very special visit from the Mayor
Children created a beautiful mural to welcome our special guest

Letter exploration through tactile play
Exploring letter recognition through a fun and sensory learning experience
Using alphabet dice , children rolled a letter and then used their finger to draw that letter into the tray of flour
This hand on activity supported children to develop early literacy skills by recognising and forming letter in an engaging way

Mrs Honey's Tree
Rachel - from Bendigo Community Health Services worked alongside the children to create a tree for our Mrs Honey's tree display
Rachel also extended conversations with the children about the importance of trees , including what animals need trees for , and what trees provide for us such as shade, oxygen, food and fruit
This wonderful collaboration has contributed to a beautiful display , showcasing the children's thinking , ideas and creativity
Rachel also shared the very funny story of Stuck , children enjoyed listening and laughing along as the events in the story infolded

Strengthening fine motor skills through water play
Children used tweezers to rescue bugs from the water .
This activity helped strengthen hand muscles , develop eye - hand coordination and build concentration and perseverance skills
Children were excited by the challenge and demonstrated great focus throughout

Children have worked together to create a special birthday display linked to Dja Dja Wurrung seasonal calendar
This display not only helps us to celebrate each child's special day , but also supports children's understanding of time , belonging and connection to Country
By recognising birthdays within the context of Dja Dja Wurrung seasons children are learning about changing environments , seasonal patterns and the cultural knowledge of the traditional custodians of our local area
