School is about more than classrooms and lessons itβs about connection, belonging and creating a place where students genuinely want to be.
A simple idea to give students more to do at lunchtime has grown into something really special. Across the campus, students are enjoying free soup and toasties, getting involved in more than 15 different games and activities, and spending time connecting with friends, teachers and other students.
Volleyball has become a lunchtime favourite, with students from Years 7β12 getting involved and itβs fantastic to see teachers joining in too!
The smiles, laughter and positive energy around the campus are a wonderful reflection of a school community coming together.
It was also fantastic to welcome a local community member and Deputy Mayor Justin King to the College to experience the lunchtime program firsthand and even join the students for a game of volleyball!
These initiatives are helping students build friendships, stay active, try new things and, most importantly, feel connected and valued.
A big congratulations to everyone involved in creating such a positive and welcoming environment.
School doesnβt have to be boring, it can be a place for connection, fun, friendship and community.

πΉ Hands on learning with real life skills! ππ§
Recently, our Year 9 Automotive elective students got their hands dirty while learning one of the most important basics of car maintenance... how to check a vehicle's engine oil! π¨βπ§π©βπ§
Knowing how to perform simple safety and maintenance checks is a valuable life skill, and we're proud to give our students practical experiences that will stay with them well beyond the classroom. Great work everyone! π

A Day of Learning, Collaboration and Growth
Curriculum Days are not a day off for staff. Today, our Benalla Pβ12 College staff are actively engaged in professional learning and development, working together so that, as one school, we can share the same goals, values and focus for our students and our community.
Our Education Support staff are working with Tomorrow Today and Live4Life to gain their Teen Mental Health First Aid training. This important learning is not just about supporting students in the classroom or in the yard, it gives our staff valuable skills to support young people and families across our wider community.
Our teachers are also learning about The Benalla BE Way, collaborating and setting goals for the future of our school community.
Today is a wonderful opportunity for our staff to learn, share ideas, collaborate and grow together. By investing in our people and working towards a shared vision, we are continuing to build a stronger, more connected school community where everyone can thrive.
One school. One focus. One community. Together, we can make Benalla Pβ12 College the best it can be.

πΉPencils at the ready! βοΈπ¨
Our Year 8 Art students have been busy developing their still life drawing skills, carefully observing objects and learning how to draw them to scale and in proportion. They have also been exploring the element of tone, using light and shadow to create depth, form and realism in their artwork.
Mrs MacDonald is incredibly proud of the effort, patience and attention to detail shown by the class. These graphite sketches are absolutely stunning and showcase the artistic talent growing in our Year 8 Art room. Well done, everyone! π
