Learning is not linear. It is not supposed to be easy or straightforward. There are supposed to be challenges. There are supposed to be hard times. How do we enable our children to flourish and work through these?
We model and teach resilience. We show them that adults get stuck too sometimes and we show them how to work through situations effectively. We provide encouragement when it is needed and support when things get hard.
The next time you or your child is facing a challenge, think about how it is being portrayed and dealt with. Are you giving up at the drop of a hat? (Chances are your child will too because that's what they've seen you do!)
The beauty of learning is that it's never-ending, and you're never too old to learn something new :)
