Our Training and Concert Bands entertained students at both the K–2 and 3–6 assemblies with fantastic performances.

We also celebrated the dedication of students who have been part of the Wakehurst Band Program for several years:

Congratulations to our Year 6 debaters who represented Wakehurst with pride at the regional knockout finals for the Premier’s Debating Challenge today. They put forward strong arguments against teachers setting research projects in the school holidays but unfortunately Lindfield Public walked away with the win this time. Congratulations girls, you were all amazing! ⭐️💙💛

Today our school transformed into a lively "Symphony of Stories," celebrating books through our annual Book Parade.

The parade featured a dazzling display of costumes, as participants dressed as characters from a wide range of books—from timeless classics to contemporary favourites. Many added musical touches to their outfits, bringing the theme to life and sparking excitement in our school community.

A huge thank you to Mrs Lindsay whose passion and love for all things books made today a spectacular symphony!

Some of our students from Years 3-6 were invited to attend a STEM workshop run by Year 9 mentors at Davidson High School. They worked in teams to design and make items using biomimicry. Thank you to the students and staff at Davidson High School for this engaging experience during National Science Week!

🌙 Tim Tams & Jim Jams! 🍫

Wakehurst PS was looking extra comfy today for our Year 6 Tim Tams & Jim Jams fundraiser!

Students loved the chance to wear their PJs to school and enjoy a fun day together, while supporting our Year 6 fundraising efforts.

A big thank you to our Year 6 students and families for their generous donations and for helping to run the BBQ. Your support helped make the day such a success!

This week, our school community came together to celebrate Education Week with this year’s theme, Inspiring Excellence, while also marking a very special milestone—Wakehurst Public School’s 60th birthday.

Families, friends and community members enjoyed visiting open classrooms, exploring displays of student learning and school memorabilia, and watching our talented students perform throughout the morning. It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase the learning, creativity and spirit that make Wakehurst such a special place.

Celebrating 60 years of Wakehurst Public School gave us the chance to reflect on our rich history, recognise the generations of students, staff and families who have shaped our school, and look forward to an exciting future together.

Thank you to everyone who has joined us over the last 2 days. Your ongoing support, enthusiasm and connection to our school community are deeply valued.

This week our debaters have wrapped up a fun and successful Premier's Debating Challenge year. Both teams have grown so much over the year, and we are very proud of all of you! A special congratulations to our Year 6 team who will move into the knockout rounds undefeated!

Today we raised a fantastic $415 for the dingo sanctuary! Thank you to our SRC for organising a great day for us to learn more about the importance of conserving dingoes and their habitats.
