STAFF VS YEAR 12: NETBALL

The annual Staff vs Year 12 challenge is back, and round one goes to the staff — 5–3 on the netball court today.

It's best out of three, so Year 12 have every chance to level the ledger. Next week it's T-ball, and the week after we settle it with dodgeball.

It was wonderful welcoming our future Year 7s for Taster Day at Belmont High! Our visiting Year 6 students got involved in cooking, sport, and science, and sampled what high school life is all about. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone again at Orientation Day in December!

SCHOOL SUPPORT STAFF RECOGNITION WEEK

Support staff play a vital role across our school, often working behind the scenes and out of the spotlight. They are the backbone of public education, and without their dedication and hard work, our school simply wouldn’t function.

We would like to take a moment to thank them for the hard work, dedication, and care they show to our students, parents/carers, and teaching staff every day.

INCLUSIVE EDUCATION EXCURSION

Our Inclusive Education students had a fantastic day out at Speers Point, taking in the immersive 360-degree projection experience You Are a Universe at the gallery, followed by time to explore and relax at Speers Point Park.

Experiences like these give our students the chance to connect with art, each other and their wider community in a relaxed, sensory-rich setting — and the smiles said it all.

OXYGEN THEORY IN ACTION

As part of National Science Week, our Year 12 Investigating Science students rolled up their sleeves to explore the oxygen theory of combustion — the discovery that reshaped how we understand fire, chemical reactions and the air around us.

By observing what really happens when substances burn, students followed the same line of inquiry that overturned centuries of assumptions and put oxygen at the centre of the story. It's hands-on science that connects historical breakthroughs to the skills our students are building for the HSC and beyond — and a fitting way to celebrate National Science Week in the lab.

YEAR 10 PASS SKI TRIP — UPDATE

There's never a dull moment for our Year 10 PASS students! From carving up the slopes on skis and snowboards to soaking up the views from the chairlifts, the group is packing plenty into every day.

And when they're off the mountain, the fun keeps going — a few rounds of pool have made for the perfect way to unwind after a big day in the snow.

YEAR 10 PASS SKI TRIP — UPDATE

The updates are rolling in and our Year 10 PASS students are having an absolute ball on the snow! Whether they're skiing or snowboarding, they're making the most of every moment.

It's fantastic to see the group growing in confidence with every run — building skills, resilience and memories that'll stick with them long after the trip wraps up.
