Empowered Early Childhood Consulting and Resources was developed to continue the passion and philosophical beliefs of Kate Higginbottom, in providing the opportunities for early childhood professionals to feel empowered to make decisions about their service and justify its unique quality! Kate Higginbottom, Director, Trainer and Consultant has her Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) a
nd been in the early childhood profession for over 10 years, 8 of which she had lead services as Director and Nominated Supervisor. Kate has worked across the sector from individual private to organisational and now a community based long day care setting. Kate leads a high quality 39 place, community based service in Newcastle NSW, which currently exceeds the National Quality Standards in all seven quality areas (July 2016). Kate has a passion for democratic and distributed leadership models and strives to support the next leaders of the EC profession through authentic and practical professional development and resources. Kate primarily taught babies and toddlers whist in contact roles, exposing children to high quality environments and authentic interactions. Kate believes in supporting a risk based approach to children's play and learning and has facilitated her teams engagement with many 'risky play experiences.' from regular outings, ongoing excursions, the use of their fire pit, climbing at heights and experiencing speed. Kate is affiliated with Inspired EC as one of their trainers and consultants also, having like minded nature based pedagogies to the founders, Nicole and Natashja. Our services include;
