Creative Kids Preschool

For the last fortnight, the children at Creative Kids Preschool have been learning about words that start with the letter’Pp’. We use the Jolly Phonics song with words that start with our letter of the week. For example we may have “purple pumpkins” or “paddling platypus”.

The children have really enjoyed the letter ‘Pp’ because it seems to start SO MANY words! It has become their challenge to think of more words every day!

The other day, the children thought of 48 words and continued to come up with more throughout lunch and into the afternoon!

The children really are a clever bunch and they really do enjoy learning!

Unbeknownst to us…
The children independently set up a table time activity with resources they found in the room.

I think they did a pretty good job!

What a great way to learn about SPACE!

The children chose to play the rocket game. Each child had a turn to spin the arrow and wait to see what picture it landed on. The rocket smoke trails were very long!

The children encouraged each other saying “your turn”, “oh you got it”, “well done”, “you won!”

The children invented their own game today using the logs in the yarning circle. It turns out, that if you lie on your tummy, it makes it easier to draw love hearts in the sand!❤️

It’s been an amazing day in the garden today! All the animals are enjoying the sunshine just like us!

The children found a ladybug, a fly, a snail (not featured), a bee and a gecko!🐞🪰🐌🐝🦎

Craft has an important role in preschool.

Craft gives the educators a chance to teach the children about the topic - this week it’s winter. The children get to explore colour, shapes, and following instructions.

Children are encouraged to ask questions and engage in discussions with the educator and the other children.

All art and craft has a purpose. And all art and craft allows children to experience a sense of success.
