What a special day of learning, connection and culture for our Grade 2–6 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students last week.

We were privileged to be joined by Trish Hodge, a Palawa woman from nita Education, for a Day on Country walking along takara limuna (Sheoak Walk). Students explored local plants, trees and grasses, learning how they have traditionally been used for food, medicine, cultural items and as indicators of the changing seasons.

Using Trish’s recently published book, Palawa Tunapri: Knowledge of Our Ancestors, students deepened their understanding of the rich knowledge and traditions passed down through generations.

In the afternoon, we welcomed ATSI families to our new playground and yarning circle for a special gathering. Trish, supported by several of our Grade 6 ATSI leaders, led a beautiful Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony. Around the campfire, students proudly shared their learning and showcased the plant samples they had collected throughout the day.

Thank you, Trish, for sharing your knowledge, stories and culture with our students and community. It was a truly memorable experience that strengthened connections to Country, culture and one another.

What a beautiful morning for our Corpus community as we came together to celebrate Walk to School Day 2026 along the Bellerive walking track. It was wonderful to see so many students, staff and families enjoying the walk together and starting the day with smiles, fresh air and community spirit.

A huge thank you to our staff who supported the event and to the Friends of Corpus who welcomed everyone at the end of the walk with scrumptious egg and bacon rolls for breakfast. What a fantastic way to begin the day together!

What an incredible achievement for Corpus Christi in the Times Tables Rock Stars “Tasmania Rocks” competition!

A huge congratulations to all of our Grade 3–6 students who participated in this statewide event featuring more than 42 schools, 176 classes and 3,047 students from across Tasmania.

We are incredibly proud to announce that Corpus Christi was the overall winning school in the competition! Every class contributed towards this amazing achievement through their effort, persistence and enthusiasm for learning.

A special congratulations goes to:
🥇 4 Green — 1st overall class in Tasmania
🥉 5 Red — 3rd overall class
👏 3 Red and 5 Green — both finishing in the Top 10 classes

We also had an outstanding 9 students finish in the Top 20 students across the entire competition!

We will be proudly displaying our trophy in the school office and would also like to thank Bruno, the creator of Times Tables Rock Stars, for providing the opportunity for our students to engage in such a fun and exciting local competition.

Times Tables Rock Stars has been a fantastic way for our students to build confidence, increase proficiency and engage with learning times tables in an interactive environment.

Well done to every student and teacher involved in this phenomenal achievement. Corpus Christi is incredibly proud of you all!

House Reading Challenge

The Corpus Christi House Reading Challenge is officially underway tomorrow! Each book (or chapter) read at home will earn one point for your house and one raffle ticket into the draw to win one of 10 book‑store vouchers.

Students who are reading chapter books will earn one point per chapter, while students reading smaller books will earn one point per book.

Books borrowed from the Corpus Christi Library are worth double points and double raffle entries.

All books must be read at home, tallied and submitted each week through the google form linked in the comments.

Throughout the term, there will also be special pop‑up lunchtime reading clubs where students can earn bonus points for books read during these sessions.

This week we celebrated the amazing Mums, Grandmothers and special women in our lives who show endless love, care and support each and every day.
