We extend our sincere thanks to Bishop Brian Mascord and Mr Daniel Delmage (Head of Continuous Catholic School Improvement - Secondary) for visiting our College yesterday and speaking with our Year 12 cohort.

The visit began with a thoughtful conversation between our Year 12 leaders and our guests, where students shared their aspirations and discussed their post‑school pathways.

Bishop Brian then addressed the full cohort, offering insights into his life journey and career, followed by a reflective Q&A session with excellent student questions.
We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with such inspiring leaders and appreciate their encouragement as our students prepare for life beyond school.

Over 180 Year 11 students spent a week getting a real taste of working life through our Work Experience and VET Work Placement programs.

Our Electrotechnology students gained hands‑on experience on domestic and commercial sites, while Hospitality students worked across a variety of venues throughout the Illawarra.

Other Year 11 students completed placements in law firms, hospitals, auto workshops, schools and a variety of other industries.

A huge thank you to all the employers who supported our students!

SOUTH COAST PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION
What a night at the South Coast Public Speaking Competition! Holy Spirit hosted 12 schools and more than 100 students, and our speakers absolutely shone — stepping up with confidence, courage, and some seriously impressive skills.

Huge congratulations to our incredible team:
Christina Dellis, Evelyn Dean, Maia Castillo (2nd), Livinia McLuskey (1st), Zali Munoz Letham (1st), Tom Ewington (3rd), Annabelle Dellis (1st), and Lachlan Ewington. The standard across the room was outstanding, and every one of our students should be incredibly proud.

Due to the amazing efforts of our team Holy Spirit was crowned Overall Champions — the trophy is officially coming home!

What a brilliant achievement for our young speakers and our school community.

A huge congratulations to Tom Ewington and Annabelle Dellis of Year 10, who competed in this year’s Quota Student of the Year competition alongside students from across the Illawarra.

Both students completed a rigorous interview on current affairs and social issues, followed by an impromptu and planned speech. Their strong performance and positive representation of our school earned excellent feedback from the Quota panel.

While the competition was incredibly close, we are thrilled to announce that this year’s winner is Tom Ewington — Student of the Year.
Well done to both Tom and Annabelle on an outstanding achievement.

RECONCILIATION WEEK
Thank you to our students who participated in the Reconciliation Walk 2026, hosted by Bellambi Public School along with Local Respected Elders Aunty Sharralyn Robinson (Aunty Shas) and Uncle Richard Archibald and our community.

Across the week the Colin Learning Centre invited all students to particpate in and be witness to a number cultural experiences and opportunities, including didgeridoo demonstrations, rock painting and Story Time.

In the spirit of the 2026 Reconciliation theme, “All In,” we invite everyone to come together in unity, respect, and shared commitment.

HOLY SPIRIT DAY
What a fabulous Holy Spirit Day was at the College! The day opened with Mass led by Fr Andrew Murray of the Marist Fathers, bringing our community together in gratitude and celebration.

Our Year 9 Commerce students did an amazing job with their food stalls, serving an incredible range of dishes to staff and students.

The campus was alive with rides, games, Sponge the Teacher, and so many fun activities. The Environmental Group’s second‑hand clothing stall was buzzing from start to finish. We closed the day with the much‑loved House Challenge — the perfect finale to a wonderful celebration of our history, community and College spirit.

ATHLETICS CARNIVAL
Our 2026 Athletics Carnival saw outstanding participation across all year groups and two new school records: Indianna Preece in the 12yrs 800m (2:27.04) and Emily Cusack in the 17+ javelin (31.44m).

Strong House spirit carried the day, with Seacliff finishing on 949 points, 85 points ahead of their nearest rival. Well done to all athletes and best wishes to those competing at the Diocesan carnival in August.

Congratulations to our Year 12 Award recipients who were recognised for their achievements at the Half Yearly Awards Assembly!

It was wonderful to see so many students receiving awards for Academic Achievement and Diligence and Commitment as they head into the home stretch of their HSC year and formal schooling.

With HSC trials coming up in Term 3 it is pleasing to see our students on track and committed to their studies. Keep up the great work!
