🌱🔬 NATIONAL SCIENCE WEEK 2026 🔬🌱
What a fantastic day of science, discovery and VERY enthusiastic experimenting!
This week our students, together with students from Beldon Education Support Centre, came together for our Seeds of Science – From Small Beginnings to Big Discoveries Science Day.

Throughout the day, students rotated through hands-on activities exploring seeds, growth and scientific investigation. Our young scientists:
🚁 Designed and tested seed helicopters
🔎 Investigated an amazing variety of seeds
🌱 Created their own growing cress heads
🌼 Made recycled flower seed paper
❄️ Experimented with growing crystals
🧪 Enjoyed a fantastic science incursion with Einstein’s Australia, generously funded by Beldon ESC

There was plenty of predicting, observing, designing, testing, creating and questioning — and LOTS of excitement along the way!
A huge thank you to our staff, parent helpers and the Education Support Centre for helping make such a big day possible. 💚

🔬🌱 PARENT HELPERS NEEDED – SCIENCE DAY MONDAY! 🌱🔬

Our whole-school Science Day is happening this Monday, and we would love a few extra parent helpers to help make the day run smoothly!

Students will be rotating through five different hands-on Science Week activities throughout the day, and we’re looking for parents who may be available to help at one of our activity stations.

No science expertise is needed! Everything will be prepared and instructions will be provided – we mainly need some extra pairs of hands to help students with the activities, materials and clean-up.
If you are available to help for part of the day or the whole day, we would be very grateful. 💚

🔥 Hot Notes for Today! 🔥

✅ Yes, the Cross Country is going ahead!
🥪 Lunch: 11:50 am – 12:20 pm.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Families are welcome to join their child for lunch on the oval.
🌭 No sausage sizzle cash sales will be available today.
🏃‍♀️ The Cross Country events begin at 12:30 pm.
⏱️ There are no set race times for year groups.
👧👦 Siblings cannot be signed out to watch races.
🏅 Presentations will begin at 2:30 pm, with all classes attending.
☕ A coffee van will be available on-site.

Don't forget – 2027 Kindergarten enrolments close TOMORROW!
If your child turns 4 years of age on or before 30 June 2027, they are eligible to attend Kindergarten in 2027.
To avoid missing out, please ensure your Application for Enrolment is submitted by the deadline.

Today we put our collaborative NAIDOC art in the Under Cover Area, please come in and check it out! Our Year 1s were making damper and our Year 4/5s continued their paper mache bowls. RJ, Joey & CJ attended a network Cultural Connection Day with other network schools and students from the Follow the Dream program at Belridge SC.

Today we began our NAIDOC Week celebrations, celebrating ‘50 Years of Deadly’. Students participated in learning, craft and cooking.
Each day this week we will share some of our activities.

We’re celebrating our amazing P&C today.
Did you know that at last count, on average WA P&Cs donated an estimated total of almost $15 million and nearly 500,000 volunteer hours each year to Western Australian school communities?
WA P&Cs work tirelessly on initiatives that benefit children at public schools. P&Cs are involved in many activities, from facilitating parent participation and involvement in the school, to acting as a forum for parents to discuss school issues and providing resources to the school via fundraising.
Each year, we pause to celebrate and acknowledge the magnificent contributions of our P&C. Thank you for everything they do.
