I have enjoyed treating some super cute new babies recently and I thought I would share why Gillespie Approach Craniosacral Fascial Therapy is so important for every baby but especially some babies in particular...

When my first baby had big feeding challenges and needed body work, I grappled with the fact that he was born tight. I mean, aren't babies meant to be ok with being in the womb? Weren't they made for it? Why would he be born so tight?
As I have followed the Gillespie Approach CFT years and years later, I have begun to more fully understand that being in the womb actually produces fascial strain, let alone what happens at birth. So even a baby who had a smooth birth can hold fascial strain in their body - enough to make them really unhappy (don't be fooled by a 'happy' baby though, they can carry just as much strain causing just as much havoc), but even more so for a baby who had a difficult birth.
With this in mind, every baby benefits from CFT in their early weeks, to help them unwind whatever they have accumulated during development in the womb and get a great start in life. Gillespie's research showed that babies who received CFT had a much more resilient craniosacral fascial system when it came to normal bumps and knocks as well as bigger injuries.

There are many different infant presentations that can have a root cause of fascial strain, and we can help them along tremendously by supporting them to unwind that strain, subsequently reorganising the muscles and to best of all, feel better in their bodies. Some of the things I've personally seen dramatically improve include feeding challenges, burping, constipation, sleep, range of motion, being unsettled, tension (eg. super tight baby hands that you have to pry open or babies who hate laying on their back), birth trauma, colic.

Gillespie himself recently shared a list of conditions that CFT can help or even correct in newborns/infants:

Reflux/Spit up
Colic/fussiness
Sleeping issues
Difficulty latching
Difficulty sucking
Difficulty swallowing
Difficulty breathing
Failure to thrive
Gas
Indigestion
Constipation
General tightness
Hiccuping
Coughing
Gagging
Choking
Snoring
Difficulty burping
Sandifer Syndrome/arching backwards
Nervous system dysregulation
Developmental delays
Poor range of motion
Poor locomotion
Strabismus/eye misalignment
Tear duct blockage
Sinus congestion
Oral tie issues
Mouth breathing
Tongue clicking
Earaches
Torticollis/favors one side
Plagiocephaly/asymmetrical head
Stridor/breathing sound
Laryngomalacia
Heart murmur
Pyloric stenosis
Hip dysplasia
Circumcision scars
Toe walking
Clubfoot
Hydrocephalus/water on the brain
Chiari malformation
Craniosynostosis
Brain injury

CFT intensives! Now’s your chance!

Because it’s school holidays and we are home next week, I have my calendar wide open for CFT appointments. It’s much harder to squeeze in intensives during the term time. So if you’re in striking distance of Bega and been thinking about trying CFT for the first time or are interested in an intensive, next week is your chance. It will be the only week like it for a long time!
Next school holidays I will be doing an intensive again in Ivanhoe NSW and Sunshine Coast QLD!

🧠 CFT intensives…
🐐 Outback NSW…
🤩 Dreams are born….

So last April, I connected (via Facebook) with a mum of 3 kids on a station out west NSW who was keen for CFT treatment for herself and her family. She was prepared to host my whole family in their contractors accommodation and put the word out to her friends and family to get enough clientele for me to be busy for 4 days!

So on the back of a holiday to Cairns in July, we drove home from Sydney the very long way via Ivanhoe NSW. I loved travelling through new country, seeing the landscape change and the opportunity to bring a pretty special service to some pretty special people.

When people don’t have ready access to CFT treatment locally, it’s possible to do an intensive such as twice a day for 2 or 3 days. There’s flexibility with how you choose to do it but the main premise is doing a lot in a short time and then having a break.
This means you can achieve quite a lot in a short time and is perfect for when people want to travel to my clinic for treatment but also as a way for me to bring treatment to people outside my region.

Well, it’s pretty safe to say it was a success! We REALLY enjoy our hosts, they are such beautiful, salt of the earth people and we have been back out there twice since then and planning to go again in September. CFT proved to be really powerful in helping people with their aches and pains, including some really long term ones as well as general alignment and well being. I have been really pleased with the longer term results in how people are holding the work we do…. So good 💃

Stay tuned for one of my next posts where I will share the dream born in this first trip to Ivanhoe!

What is CFT??

It can be hard to explain, even after you’ve experienced it. But hopefully this helps you understand it!

Ok. So why was life hectic last year??

👉🏼 busy homeschooling my three kids
👉🏼 a big trip doing my first CFT intensive in the NSW outback followed by a fun family trip to visit family in Cairns
👉🏼 building my business and working much more so that:
a) I can help more people and
b) we could transition hubby out of full time work and into sharing the homeschooling…. So I could help more people
👉🏼 footy (all day Sat commitment for us) - hubby coaching his junior team AND the mens team plus some umpiring thrown in
👉🏼 feeling called by God to spend 3 months in Japan sharing CFT with my friends family and community
👉🏼 our second CFT intensive in outback NSW
👉🏼 experiencing miracles that made going to Japan possible
👉🏼 getting our house ready for house sitters
👉🏼 all the logistics and planning for 3 months away overseas
👉🏼 brushing my teeth (lol) just all the life stuff

As you can see it was a lot! And I look forward sharing more about it all…

Pic is of the kid free (thanks parents!) weekend away hubby and I had before we left for Japan. Courtesy of the ‘Volunteer of the year award’ that hubby won from the footy association. It was MUCH needed!

📚 Development doesn't begin with academics — it begins with the nervous system.

🧒 Rhythmic Movement Training works through the body first, supporting reflex integration, neural pathway development, posture, sensory processing, and regulation.

🌟 These foundational systems influence how we move, learn, focus, connect, and respond to the world at every age.

➡️ That's why RMTi focuses on restoring the developmental building blocks many children — and adults — may have missed along the way.

Hello World!!!

It’s been a real long while since I’ve been sharing on social media (395 days to be precise) and I have loved having a break. Things got pretty hectic second half of last year and this year has been a big one so far.
I feel prompted to get back to sharing and I’m hoping I can pull it off in a consistent way.
So get keen!!
