🏐 Lightning Cup Netball! ⚡

What an achievement for our Year 5 and 6 girls who proudly represented GCC at the Sunshine Coast Lightning Cup Netball Competition, competing alongside an incredible 112 teams from 53 schools!

Our girls won 4 out of 7 games in the Championship Division, finishing 18th overall out of 40 schools. 👏🌟

Miss Noble, Ms Sawyer and Mr Bennet are incredibly proud of the team’s effort, sportsmanship and the way they represented GCC throughout the competition.

🎸 What an incredible night at GCC Battle of the Bands! 🎶

Congratulations to Hostility, who took out first place with an outstanding performance! 🏆 Their energy, musicianship and stage presence impressed the judges and had the audience cheering.

Together, we also raised over $500 for Farm Angels, supporting Australian farming families affected by natural disasters.

A huge thank you to all our performers, judges, volunteers and supporters who made the evening such a success! 🤘🎤

📚💛 There’s something special about sharing a good book with a new friend!

During Book Week, our Year 7 and Year 1 students came together for Relax and Read, spending time turning pages, sharing stories and enjoying plenty of conversation along the way. 📖✨

It was wonderful to see our older students encouraging their younger buddies and connecting through a shared love of books. Moments like these make Book Week even more memorable and bring our Symphony of Stories to life across the College. 🎶🥰

Our Year 11 Hospitality students put their skills to the test for their recent Bar and Barista Menu Assessment, mixing colourful mocktails 🍓🍋 and serving a delicious selection of canapés. 🍴✨

Author Annaleise Byrd inspired our students with practical writing tips ✍️ and ideas for creating memorable characters. Through dramatic storytelling 🎭, hilarious games 😆 and plenty of audience participation 🙌, our Year 5 and 6, and Prep M students were encouraged to read 📖, respond creatively 💡 and, most importantly, have fun playing with words.

Rebecca inspired students to experiment with ideas, explore wordplay and draw some of her Jawsome characters. 🦈🐙

It was a truly ‘puntastic’ day of creativity, laughter 😂 and ocean-inspired adventures , proving there’s always more to discover beneath the surface of a great story! 📖💙

Students explored significant moments in Australia’s history, learning about the British invasion, the Eureka Stockade ⛏️ and much more!

A highlight was the opportunity to get up close and interact with real and replica artefacts from the time 🪙🔍, bringing their classroom learning to life!
