Club Championships 2026 🥋

A great opportunity for our students to experience competition in a fun, supportive environment.

Thanks to the generous sponsorship from Jaymak we were able to purchase our own PSS chest guards, helping give the event a professional competition feel and making the experience even better for our athletes.

One of the great things about having full-time centre is being able to separate our students into classes based on age and skill level, so they can learn at the right pace and train alongside kids at a similar stage.

These are pre-choreographed routines our black belts have to perform for their grading.

They are a mix of useful self-defence skills we teach, with a demonstration and performance element added in.

Real self-defence is messy and unpredictable.

Routines help our students practise their skills in a more structured way. They are also exciting to watch and great for inspiring other students.

We know not everything in a routine will be realistic in every situation, especially with size and strength differences.

That’s why we also train open scenarios with instructors in full face shields, creating a more realistic and unpredictable challenge.

Well done to Ava, Sarah, Carla and Peter, who successfully graded to 2nd Dan last weekend under Grand Master Lee, 8th Dan and former National Poomsae Coach.

It was a privilege to have Grand Master Lee assess our students, provide valuable feedback, and help ensure our black belts continue to meet a high standard.

We are also very proud to see so many of our black belts helping, supporting and being part of the day.

A great achievement for our new 2nd Dans, and a great example of the strong community we have. 🥋👏
