Book Week celebrations are underway at Beeac Primary School!

What a wonderful way to begin this year’s Book Week theme, The Symphony of Stories!

Our students travelled to Warrnambool today to visit the Capitol Theatre and enjoy a screening of Toy Story 5.

We also stopped in Cobden for recess and a play at the park before continuing our adventure.

A fantastic start to a week celebrating stories, imagination and the joy of books!

Today we celebrate Australian Primary Principals Day, and at Beeac Primary School we are incredibly fortunate to have our wonderful Principal, Mrs Mel Wood.

Mrs Wood leads with dedication, kindness and passion, guiding and advocating for our students, staff and families every day. Her commitment to our school community makes a positive difference, and we are so grateful for everything she does.

Today we farewelled the wonderful Sue as she begins a well deserved retirement.

Sue has brought so much to Beeac Primary School through her kindness, laughter, incredible washing up skills and appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. She has been a valued colleague and a friendly face who has made a lasting impact on our school community.

Our students proudly presented Sue with flowers, chocolates, a special card and a book of Retirement Advice, filled with thoughtful messages from students and staff. We also celebrated Sue’s love of ice cream by sharing a delicious ice cream cake together, a fitting way to mark such a special occasion.

Sue, thank you for everything you have given to Beeac Primary School. We wish you every happiness, good health and many wonderful memories as you begin this exciting new chapter.

Congratulations on your retirement. You will always be a treasured part of the Beeac family.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, our Year 6 students attended Alvie Primary School to participate in the Love Bites Program, facilitated by Senior Constable Stephanie Ward.

Love Bites is a respectful relationships education program that supports young people to build healthy relationships, understand consent, recognise respectful and harmful behaviours and develop positive communication skills.

The program complements our Health and Respectful Relationships curriculum, supporting students to develop the knowledge and skills needed to build safe, respectful and positive relationships.

A valuable learning experience for our Year 6 students alongside their Alvie Primary School peers.
