HASS WEEK - 🔐 The Romans have a lot to answer for!

As part of HASS Week, our Year 7 students took on a Caesar Cipher Amazing Race, decoding secret messages, solving clues and racing against the clock to find their way to the finish.

There was some serious teamwork, some impressive code-breaking and plenty of competitive spirit! 🏃‍♀️🏆

PAUL DILLON PRESENTATIONS

On Tuesday, our College welcomed back Paul Dillon from Drug and Alcohol Research and Training Australia (DARTA) to work with our senior students.

Paul has been a leading educator in the field of drug and alcohol education for almost 30 years. His presentations are evidence-based, engaging and designed to equip young people with practical knowledge and strategies that support safe and healthy decision-making.

Students were encouraged to think critically about risk-taking behaviours, understand the realities of alcohol and other drugs, and learn how to look after themselves and their peers.

STUDENT LANGUAGE ACHIEVEMENT

Congratulations to Sebastian (Year 7) on achieving First Place in the State Chinese Speaking Competition, organised by the Chinese Language Teachers Association of Western Australia (CLTAWA) at Curtin University!

Sebastian’s achievement reflects not only his natural talent but also his hard work, determination and resilience. He amazed the judges with his fluent delivery, confident flow and vivid performance.

🗑️ SPOGOMI HAS LANDED AT CHISHOLM!

As part of HASS Week, our Year 10–12 students took on the Japanese-inspired Spogomi challenge, combining teamwork, strategy and sustainability as they competed to collect and sort rubbish around the College.

Our Student Leaders’ Mentor Programme provides our Prefects and Assistant Prefects with the opportunity to be supported by dedicated staff mentors throughout their leadership journey. Through encouragement, guidance and honest feedback, Mentors help students grow in confidence and leadership.

CATHOLIC PERFORMING ARTS FESTIVAL
Chisholm’s Jazz Band took to the stage at La Salle College last night as part of the Catholic Performing Arts Festival.
Led by Mr Dave Deacon, the ensemble performed a varied programme showcasing a range of jazz styles and featuring several student solos. Congratulations to all involved on a fantastic performance!

BOOK WEEK
Today for Book Week we celebrated our top readers from each year group with a morning tea. Congratulations to our winners and thank you to all our students who came along to join in with the festivities. Teachers were also invited, as long as they dressed up! We had a Symphony of Characters ensemble.

YEAR 10 RIVER CRUISE
Last Thursday evening, our Year 10 students enjoyed a memorable River Cruise along the beautiful Swan River. The event provided a wonderful opportunity for students to come together, celebrate the year so far and enjoy an evening of fun with their peers.

Students represented themselves and the College with maturity, respect and positivity, contributing to a fantastic atmosphere on board. Their conduct made the evening enjoyable for all and reflected the strong sense of community within the year group.
