Heartfelt congratulations to these marvellous ‘Two Ladies’ & D.K Productions alumni, the exceedingly talented Kate Harvey & Urska Sabec.

Kate & Urska wowed the appreciative opening night audience with powerful performances, immense passion, candour, raw emotion, a touch of wit and admirable resilience and strength.

They were supported by an exceptional cast who brought fabulous energy and pace to the story and they were all directed with masterful care and prowess by the wonderful Adam Rafferty.

The set is striking and the costumes are stunning and the mood lighting and sound was just perfect.

This is a thought provoking play not to be missed.

Bravo Kate, Urska, Sean, Lara, Camille, Adam, Rhonda, Damien, Ella, Sam & Harry 💜

Congratulations to the staff of Beauvale Primary School for a marvellous term culminating in a fabulous performance on Monday evening.

Our Glimmering & Shining Stars did an excellent job telling our own stories of life in a fictional primary school and bringing their individual characters to life with exceptional conviction.

Our Twinkling and Rising Stars went on an imaginary journey and a ‘what if’ tale and their creative ideas if students ruled the school…

Our Musical Theatre Stars had a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious term and performance with everyone’s favourite and practically perfect in every way Nanny.

We celebrated World Theatre Day all week long and the theatre world is in very good hands with passionate and talented stars of the future 🎭🎶

The theatre was swarming with witches, mice and Matilda’s this week and it was absolutely delightful!

We spread a little Roald Dahl magic this term as our stars of all ages honed their theatrical skills and had the most splendid time.

In term 4 we’ll embrace new and exciting stories and adventures to bring to life with imagination and creativity…

CONGRATULATIONS to our D.K alumni, many of whom made their theatrical debut on the Beaumaris Theatre stage in The Witches 🐭

Alex, Jack, Ange, Anne-Maree, Ben, Claire, Jade, Lara, Léa, Leisha, Merie and Suze shone brightly in their respective roles and put their stagecraft skills into practice and did a marvellous job, especially Alex and Jack in their starring roles and extremely impressive stage debuts.

Thank you to the wonderful Leah Osburn for taking a chance on so many first time performers and nurturing them to follow their dreams and theatrical aspirations.

Congratulations also to past and present D.K Productions students who graced the stage in Beaumaris Secondary Colleges excellent production of Puffs and they were all outstanding 🎭

The curtains have closed on term 3 and what a glorious term it’s been, full of theatrical discovery and wonder.

Our Twinkling Stars performed our version of ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’; our Rising Stars explored emotions in a script titled ‘Out of My Head’; our Shining Stars and Masterclass wrote and performed their own original monologues with the theme of Knife Edge and our Musical Theatre Stars performed an ‘Annie’ showcase.

In term 3 we’ll be working on scripts based on a certain Roald Dahl classic…

Sincere congratulations to all our D.K Productions students making their Beaumaris Theatre debut in The Witches: Alexander Coughlan, Jack Van Vuuren, Ange Andrews, Anne-Maree Pollard, Ben Saunders, Jade Parker-Ryan, Lara Anderson, Lèa Kim, Leisha Anderson, Merie Chenhall & Suze McQuillan and Claire Ruberu making her return to our stage.

It’s so very exciting that Alexander and Jack are playing starring roles as Boy and Bruno Jenkins.

Our students are spreading their theatrical wings far and wide and our Masterclass students Alyssia Innocent has been cast as Augusta Hawkins and Don Blasingame as Henry Woodhouse in Frankston Theatre Group’s production of Emma. AND Zoe O’Neill has been cast as Nellie in Lord Arthur Saviles’s Crime at Mordiallic Theatre Company.

WOW! You should all be so very proud of yourselves and you’ll have so much fun and learn so much and it will be the start of a beautiful theatre career and you’ll be hooked.

Can’t wait to see you all tread the boards 💜

This term we traveled over the rainbow to visit the merry old land of Oz, and a look into the early lives of two young girls, long before they were known as The Wicked Witch of the West and The Good Witch of the North.

We delved into how they handled discrimination and injustice and they and their fellow Ozians learnt some very valuable life lessons.

Our musical theatre students performed wonderfully wicked showtunes paying homage to the Emerald City too.

Our teens and masterclass brought Goodes Department Store alive again with the delightful characters created by Madeleine St John in her novel “The Women in Black”, a beautiful story about following your dreams and never giving up on them, no matter what.

At the beginning of 2020 beautiful and talented Annalei Warren joined our adult class looking for a creative outlet after a lifetime of involvement with Calisthenics and wanting to explore another side of performance.

Annalei’s love and passion for the performing arts was infectious and her gorgeous smile and sparkling eyes lit up the stage and every room she walked into and she was a natural born storyteller on stage and off.

Over the past 4 years Annalei relished every marvellous moment of learning new stage skills and perfecting her craft and she was delighted when her beloved Stew stepped out of his comfort zone and joined her to share her passtime and create precious memories together.

Last year Annalei and Stew joined the cast of Beaumaris Theatre’s 70th Anniversary Panto R***e and adored the opportunity to do a show together and make some very special, treasured friends.

In October Annalei sadly lost her battle with Ovarian cancer at the age of 36.

Last Monday night at our Master Class performance evening, we posthumously awarded Annalei with the very special Tom Travers Award. Tom was a gentleman and consummate actor and the award was created by Wendy McRae in Tom’s loving memory to be shared between Beaumaris Theatre, Brighton Theatre Company and Malvern Theatre Company where Tom graced our stages on numerous occasions.

Annalei epitomised everything Tom stood for, in theatre and in life: their gift to captivate audiences with their charms and talents; their desire to always improve and give their heart and soul, and then some, to every show they were involved in; their genuine interest in people and their stories and wanting to connect and help individuals be the very best they could possibly be and their admirable professionalism. Being in their presence was a true joy and they had a knack of making everyone they met feel valued and worthy.

We’d like to believe Tom and Annalei are putting on a heavenly show together and delighting and enchanting their audience, all while watching over us as our theatrical guardian angels….💜

Last term our stars explored the creative joys of imaginary friends and our teens and adults flexed their creativity and wrote and directed monologues for their peers and brought them to life beautifully.

In term 4 we’re excited to set our imaginations soaring as we take a creative leap of faith into the wonderful world of improv and enjoy spontaneity, storytelling, teamwork and risk taking in a fun, safe and nurturing space.
